After our last visit, I was pretty much done with them anyway.

Yes, nothing like paying tons of money to wait in excruciatingly long lines for somewhat third rate rides.  You do have plenty of opportunities to shop, though.  4951

Here I go again.

People will fork over hundreds of dollars to attend a pro football game without complaining that the team raised the price of the tickets for the 8th straight year, now averaging over $147/ticket. They'll fork over hundreds of $ to attend a concert that only lasts a couple of hours.

But when Disney does it, all hell breaks loose? I think $100/ticket for the day-night long entertainment isn't all that expensive. There are endless entertainment/activities for everyone. Where else can you find, for $100, THAT quality level of entertainment?

@jax: I don't complain because I don't do that.  TV is OK with me, though the sheer number of ads make a game almost unwatchable.  At some point the sports thing is all going to implode.

You're right, it's ALL going up and getting out of hand. Vacation activities are always one huge gouge. It's part of Americana! You do something for fun and to get away and you expect to get gouged, pay 5 bucks for a bottle of water and 12 bucks for a crappy hamburger. Is there a place for this? Yes, and we have all done it bc vacations are expensive but they are also suppose to be a treat, not an everyday occurance.

The sad part now is most people can't afford this stuff anymore. A family of four going to Disneyland will drop $400.00 just to get in and $600.00 to see a football game, not counting parking or food or any souvenirs, ot those giant delish pickles. Emoticon
It's just sad bc people will go anyway and just charge everything and deal with the credit cards when they get
back bc well, everyone deserves a vacation.

It's pretty sad that prices are so exorbitant, that most people are strained to even go.

Eh, it's all greed. I always loved Disneyland, even now I'd go in a heart beat, but my common sense is holding a gun to my brain. 4951

I have an idea....come to my hill country 'resort' instead. We have horse back riding for you peeps that want action. The rest of us will sit on the front porch, in our comfy chairs, and watch the wildlife and enjoy the stars. We'll only charge one good bottle of red wine per night. And you do have to clean your own terlet. I'm nice but not that nice. 4951

Don't offer that twice or I'll be at your front door!! Emoticon

It sounds truly divine to me! Nature is still the best vacation ever, with horses! 4951

It can be arranged. We're having new floors put in (hopefully) next week, and family coming to visit in April. But it you're nice, not a serial killer and you clean up after yourself, it's possible. 4951

Disney is attracting a large foreign visitor volume and they see they can cash on this. 4951

@TheTruthHurts: Sounds to me like you just explained why the price for vacation spots and and going to football games are so expensive. Because people will pay it.. even if they have to go into debt.

I'd pay much more if it caused greatly reduced crowds.Maybe they should have special days for those of us that are crowd adverse. 4951

Parents will pay just about any amount of money to make their kids happy. It's not like I would go to Disney alone, you do it for the kids. 4951
