So this morning by the Kroger in the back of kingwood my brother was riding his bike to work. There was a car leaving so he stopped and waited for her to stop and proceeded through the intersection. She hits him and messes up his knee, he gets transported to the hospital in an ambulance. Cops come, it's not her fault...what!?! She HIT, RAN OVER, how ever u want to say it, ran him over. How's it not her fault? The cops let's her leave and go to work. WTF?!? 4951

That exit out of kroger on NP is horrible, the trail is hidden by trees/vines....I've seen people walking, biking come out of there from nowhere. I'm very very mindful coming out of that parking lot. They really need to trim back the overgrowth right there. Hope your bro's knee isn't too jacked up and he's pain free soon. Be careful folks and watch out for people on the trails! 4951

This is about to be a dangerous city if the only reason I have to not hit a pedistrion is that I don't want to scratch my car and wipe the blood off it. And the inconvience of having to wait for the cops to tell me it's not my fault. What if he died? 4951

My bf got hit at the same spot TEN years ago and cracked his skull open and the driver wasn't charged either. Ridiculous.  4951

That's messed up. Guess there is civil court if his knee is jacked. Hope he got the drivers info.

I hope it heals an no need to sue though.

What did the cops tell you (or him) about why she wasn't at fault? I would ask to see the police officers report. 4951

@Nicole4647: Call Jim Adler. He can Texas Hammer her ***. I wonder if they pulled her text records or facebook posts if they coincide with the "accident". Seriously, his leg may never be the same. I'd get a lawyer and file a civil suit loke @foxymama said. She should have coverage on her auto insurance for this even if she wasn't "at fault". Keep us updated.

@topcat: First off I hope the guy is OK and he has a speedy recovery.  I seriously don't understand this post though, we don't know weather this woman did anything wrong at all and you are recommending suing her?  All we know from the OP is that the cops said she was not at fault.  I'm really sorry the young man was hurt, but it is possible that it was his fault, we don't know.

It sounds like he stopped and expected her to come to a complete stop as well but she didn't. Unfortunately he proceeded through the intersection and was hit. But that's a lot of assumptions on my part. 4951

Riding a bike around here, I would not expect anything from somebody in a car. Sounds like he should have stayed stopped in this case. Maybe why the driver didn't get charged? 4951
