Ok here's another android only tips and tricks.

Flash Notifications!

This one's good for the hearing impaired.

This trick enables your phone to flash the torch LED to notify you of appointments, calls, text and any other type of alarms you add to your device.

To enable do the following:

Settings
Device
Accessibility
Hearing

Now select Flash Notifications and exit the menu.

Have you're DH, DW, DD, DS or any other D* you fools can think of send you a text or call your phone and enjoy the new trick.

@elguapo:  My sister could use something like that because she's deaf in one ear.  If she sleeps on her good ear, no audible alarm works for her.I hope they have something similar for iphones and iPads because that's all her son gets her.  He always buys the latest i-whatever and gives his old one to his mom. 4951

@Retired_Engineer:

How to have the iPhone's LED flash alert you to new notifications
Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.
Tap on General.
Inside the General menu, tap on Accessibility.
Scroll down a ways and under the Hearing section, turn the option for LED Flash for Alerts to On.

That's it! You're iPhone's LED flash should now light up every time you receive a notification alert.

If you use the LED flash for iPhone notifications, let us know how it works for you!

You have no idea how much crap I had to delete from this post to get you that information, which is why I hate i-devices. Sorry, just not an i-anything fan. 4951

@elguapo:  Thanks my friend!  I'm no fan of Apple products either.  I'll have to send those instructions to her son because my sister doesn't know how to do "settings" on her i-things.

I have my phone set for blinking notification so it doesn't disturb others at work. The problem is that the darn blinking can wake me in the middle of the night. I have to cover it to sleep. 4951

Depending on what type of device you have, you should be able to set it to "blocking" for a set time, which means it does nothing. You should also be able to customize it so it will let certain people through as well. For example, my SG4 is set to block mode from 9 pm to 6 am, however, if DH or DS calls or texts, it lets that through. It will also work as far as your blinking LED is concerned.  4951
