I need to place a complaint against a doctor. I already spoke to the office manager where this doctor practices regarding the matter and to my Primary Care Doctor. My PCM told me to make a complaint to the AMA. I looked up the site and the doctor that I need to place the complaint about is not a member of the AMA.

Do I and how do I place a complaint to the Texas board of doctors? If there is such a thing? If anyone can help me out with their knowledge on what to do I would greatly appreciate it. 4951

Do I need a license number of the doctor? If I call the office manager will they give that information out to me? 4951

@mf9349:  I filed a complaint against a dentist a few years ago. I found a website where I could file a complaint.Use Google and I'm sure you can find something similar for MDs.  You don't need their license number, just their name and address.

@Retired_Engineer:

I have been on Google all morning trying to locate as much information as I can on this doctor. I have filed a complaint with my insurance company. Apparently he got his license out of Iowa. I'm trying to locate a website to file a complaint in Texas against him. There are so many websites and I am trying to weed through them to figure out what is the best.

What was the end result when you filed a complaint regarding dentist? 4951

@mf9349:  They responded that they would investigate.  If they did, they didn't inform me of their findings.  My guess is they "put a note in a file" and did nothing.  The dentist was new, so she probably didn't have any/many complaints at that time.  However, if they get enough complaints like mine, they will probably take punative action.He/she may have gotten their medical license in Iowa, but they have to be certified to work in Texas.

I found this website to place complaints. I am putting a link to it just in case anyone out there needs it themselves.
