Been getting my daughters seizure meds there for a few years..just got a refill on lamotrigine...half the bottle was correct, the other half was losartan a blood pressure/potassium med. ..their excuse, which pharmacist said wasn't an excuse was that the bottles are similar. Of course he apologized and gave the correct meds .

These pills are not even shaped the same! Walgreens sucks, and now I don't trust cvs. I understand mistakes happen but sorry, you can't screw up the meds that my daughter requires to stay seizure free without losing a customer.

I never think to check any RX.  I get it and take the pills.Never again.  Thanks for posting this @BooBear.

@Fallon:

The description of the meds is on the label. You can also Google the imprint on the pills and it will let you know what the Medicine is. @topcat taught me that. 4951

I haven't stepped foot in a CVS since my wife fell down on a wet floor in one and nobody came to help her. One worker from the end of the aisle saw her laying there and yelled to her to be careful. 4951

@BooBear:  Boo.. I take a handful of meds myself and a mistake like that could be deadly. We use the pharmacy at H.E.B. and have never had any problems.

I am not normally a tattletale BUT - this is big and bad.
First, calling the CVS corporate is in order but more importantly, you need to report it to the State Pharmacy Board.  That is the ONLY way that errors such as this (and kudos to you for catching it) can be stopped.   The Pharmacist (either an RPh or PharmD) who did it is required to verify everything - being busy is NOT an excuse.

Yes, mistakes happen but not noticing this is not a mistake, it is negligence.

I do not like CVS and after reading the large number of people talking about their "errors" lately this seems to need escalation.  I have friend who use CVS and hear, "oh, they made a mistake"...  How many mistakes do they need to make before something changes?  This is just wrong!!!

You should count them too, Walgreens on Hwy 59 has short changed us on the number of pills in the container. It really matters now because insurance companies won't let you refill early, 5 days early is the earliest for most. I've had patients cut short on their medicines from other pharmacies.

Hubby was using Walmart on 1960 for his thyroid meds because he could get 90 days.  I hated going there, they wouldn't be ready when they said or out of stock, long lines. We tried HEB on Kingwood Dr for a one time Rx and now we're switching everything to them.  They are really accommodating, friendly and fast.  4951
