I've always heard stories about Eagles being here but I've never actually seen one in Texas. That all changed today I was heading towards Kingwood on 1960 crossing over the bridge when I saw a couple of cars stopped and people looking at something on the lake. I like out to the right to see what they're looking at and they're flying over the water is an eagle!! I've been to Alaska so I've seen Eagles before but it was pretty cool to see one near my home. 4951

Greens bayou on the east side of town has a few. There is a really large eagles nest high up in a pine tree that is located at the waters edge. No roads nearby, i saw it when i was out on my kayak last year. When i say really large nest, looked to be the size of a king size matress 60ft or more up in the air. I'll be taking my binoculars and camera next time i go. 4951

I've seen the bald eagless fly over my home. Once on the way to Riverwood one flew right in front of my car. They are such beautiful creatures. What a gift to see them. 4951

I saw one awhile back at the north side pond at the front of KW Dr. I was quite surprised as, at the time, I didn't realize we had some around here. It was pretty neat. 4951

@analogkid: Same here.  A couple of years ago I saw a pair that fished around the Otter Point area of East End for most of the summer.  Figured they must have a nest close but never did find it.  I've also seen them up where the Caney comes into the East Fork.  The ranger at Lake Houston Park told me that they'd had a pair nesting in that area for a decade.
Doesn't matter how many times I see them, though.  I have to admit that I stand in admiration each time.  Truly magnificent to see.  4951

And this one, as well...only a few hundred feet away. I'm guessing it's the other's mate. 4951

They truly are majestic creatures! We moved to our home on the lake a couple of years ago. One day I was looking out the window at one of the islands. There was a large fallen tree in the water and I saw something big on the log. I thought it was a deer and went to get the binoculars. What I saw was a huge surprise. It was an eagle! So beautiful! We had seen an eagle flying over the lake before while we were on the boat but this was the first time I had seen one out my back window. 4951

Have seen them on right side of lake Houston at the bridge going towards Atascocita from Kingwood, also in back of Kingwood in Kingspoint and flown over our house several times. Plus down on 59 where the old bridge is and Natius Nursery ...great to see these beautiful birds in our area... 4951
