Defensive driving.... If you hire a traffic attorney hire one locally. No use hiring someone in Dallas when they don't know the court system in Houston. They are getting down hard on motorcycle riders without the endorsement also. Ms. Parker seems to be scheming for money of course cops wont tell you that. They have their little meetings and give advice on how to write for more citations.  All said some of these traffic lawyers know how to keep stuff off your license. Barring it was involved with a injury / fatality. 4951

Don't bother to hire a traffic attorney.  Just take the deferred adjudication and pay the fine.  Traffic attorneys just cost you more money and time.  They are a complete scam! 4951

@Retired_Engineer: Exactly! I got off with just a warning by telling the officer "I was just staying with the flow of traffic" she couldn't argue with that so she just smiled and gave me a warning. It didn't hurt to be polite either.

@uneasyrider:  Police are people too and a little bit of courtesy goes a long way.  They have a tough job and your calm cooperation goes a long way.  Besides, a police car just being visible and stopping a car (doesn't matter if they write a ticket or give a warning), reminds people to slow down and be careful.

@HotterThanYou:  I agree.  Works better than a radar detector.
