I heard some people talking about a fence that has gone up around King's Crossing Apartments where crews will presumably be starting the destruction of the buildings soon so I decided to go and take a few pictures. The fence erected has no shortage of "Keep Out" signs which I'd advise obeying because I noticed private security roaming the parking lot inside. You can see this piece of heavy machinery from the main entryway.I thought this was a little strange, I'm not sure if it's an abandoned vehicle or someone working on the property but It was around the backside of the complex with no one in sight. Walking around you can see plenty of abandoned items on back porches. These potted plants are still thriving even with everything around them in total decay. Two trees beside someones front door from the West Lake Houston sideStanding in the middle of the driveway into the side entrance of the complexa dumpster on the side near the metro park and rideFinally a shot of the entryway sign, even when the apartment was still leasing to tenants I can't remember the last time I saw this fountain flowing with water. 4951
I feel bad for everyone. The people who lived there. The animals and wildlife who lived there too. Â And for the rest of us who have to deal with the increase in traffic and the loss of natural habitat. Â And all so a developer can build more concrete structures.. 4951
While it is sad to see the current habitat disrupted or removed, hopefully not all of them...... ......glad to see the dilapidated structure be recycled. 4951
Too bad it can't be turned into a park. Â That would allow for preservation of the wetlands/pond and existing mature vegetation. Â I understand the property owner's right to sell it and turn a profit - doesn't mean I have to like it. Â There's plenty of commercial development going on in the area. Â Unfortunately, becoming numb to overdevelopment and destruction of natural environs seems the best method of acceptance until I can locate somewhere less prone to slash-and-pave.. 4951
