When we moved to San Antonio we planned on being in this rent house for a year. Someone had other plans so it appears we'll be moving sooner than expected. Like...the end of March, soon! As in...4 weeks before this baby is due!

But this time we're much more excited about moving. We've found our perfect Hill Country home! It's a 3/3/3 on 2.75 acres. We'll be converting the study into a 4th bedroom for guests. Check her out!

You'll have to fight my family for that!

Our 5 year plan is to build a small guest house out back. That way everyone has their "get away from the kids" space. Including me!! 4951

Oh I am so happy for you!!!You will have family come and help you get unpacked, so don't stress.  I LOVE that house, and yard! Whoohoo!

@Fallon:

The good thing is that we only unpacked the necessities when we moved out here in November. So most of our stuff is still in boxes! It'll at least cut down on packing. And the new place is only about 20 minutes from our current house. So that'll make it easier too. And DH already knows I won't be much help at 8+ months pregnant! We sent aside $$ for movers already so I have to start getting quotes for that. If it's crazy expensive then we'll pay some of DH's warehouse crew to move our stuff.

My step mom is an excellent unpacker! So I plan on convincing her to come out and help. Emoticon She doesn't know it yet... 4951

If the house is empty, and you can, move one room at a time.  Like take your bathroom stuff and put it all away.  Then move your closets.  Then your kitchen.  Unpack as you go.  We were able to do that when we moved here.  We had a rental house for a few months while we looked to buy.We moved all the small things.  I had my bathrooms and kitchen completely done, before the movers ever showed up to move the furniture.  And the movers set our beds up for us.  It took us a few days after that to unpack a few odds and ends.  Best move I have ever had.

@Fallon:

I'd love that! But...oddly enough, the seller is moving into our rental after closing. We've already done all the necessary paperwork for him to finish out our lease. This gives him the time he wants to figure out where he wants to buy, and it allows us to get out of our lease early with no penalty.

His kids have already started moving his things out of the house. I believe he'll be staying with one of them during the transition. 4951

How awesome is that?When we bought here, we were in a bidding war, but the owners chose us because we agreed to rent them their house back while they closed on their new houseEmoticon  So we had about 2 weeks to get moved, after they closed and left.Got the painting done, and was able to move in, somewhat organized.  It was so nice to wake up, our first morning here, and my bathrooms and kitchens were all done.  TV's were all set up and there wasn't much to actually do.We bought 3 houses in 5 years, and never had a move that organized.

@Fallon:

I hope ours goes that smoothly! We had thought about doing that, renting it back to him...but we're using a VA loan, so we could only rent it back for 60 days. Our lease was originally to be up November 1st. So that wouldn't have worked out for us.

We had looked at this same house a month ago. The only reason we went and looked again was because they dropped the price. The owner just happened to be there and has been more than willing to work with us. Turns out it'll work out for all of us! He told DH he was leaving him the riding mower too. He's excited about that! LOL! 4951
