Got a question for all you bakers out there. I'm making a old family recipe(great grandma's)it says to dip one side of the cookie in the cinnamon sugar mix. But it's really not sticking to the cookies??? The first batch came out ok. But it's not like gg's that I remember from 30 plus years ago. How do I get the cinnamon sugar to stick? 4951

You used enough of the wet ingredients in the dough?  4951

I did some research after the fact. Next time I'm going to dip them again in the cinnamon sugar mixture as soon as they come out of the oven. It's can get kinda cracra when I have my sisters 3 year old twins helping me! I was in the weeds but we managed to make some tasty heart shaped biscochitos in honor of Saint Valentine! 4951

You do have to press hard.  And then I get a spoon and just set some extra right on top prior to baking.I am guessing you were making a snickerdoodle type cookie?  You have be somewhat heavy handed with the cinnamon too.

@Fallon:
Biscochitos is New Mexico's traditional cookie. It's a thick sugar cookie with anise seeds in it that is dusted with cinnamon-sugar. 4951
