I will miss them, I don't shop there much, but when I do it's for cables, adapters, and that sort of thing.  Not enough to keep them in business, but not sure where I will go for some of that stuff.  I can still get online of course, but I usually have an instant need. 4951

@Ebola: Yes.  It was my favorite place as a kid that kept trying to build a time machine or a robot girlfriend.

The TRS80 VS the Commodore 64 argument.

For serious buyers you had the Tandy1000. It was outdated when sold new there were much better pc's being sold for a cheaper price. 4951

I read the specs on the latest 1000 it couldn't even run Windows 95. That was also around the time they started selling HP's and compaq much better machines at the time. 4951

Thank goodness Frys is still around.  And there is also an electronics parts store down in Clear Lake.I did go to Radio Shack a lot as a kid.  Building devices to annoy my parents and brother, was a fun pastime.  (After I took apart the TV they decided it was best just to give me a budget for parts.)But I did NOT like how intrusive Radio Shack was regarding their collection of personal data.  You always had to give your phone number and other info just to buy a few minor parts that could only theoretically be used to construct a molecular disassembler. 4951
