What would you do if your step son came home, and told you that his mother left him in a hotel room ALONE, for HOURS over the weekend? Oh and btw, he's also Autistic.

She apparently knows its wrong bc he told us she told him not to tell us. Too bad he told us as soon as he walked in the door. 4951

you shouldn't do anything. your hubby is the one to deal with it unless you are looking for permanent conflict between yourself and the hubby's ex 4951

I would have him him discuss it with his father and stay out of myself. Then if there are concerns, his father and mother should talk about it. If he is autistic he may not have a concept of the amount of time or have the facts correct. How old is he and why was he supposedly left? 4951

He doesn't communicate with her. He hates her. They were supposed to communicate on a court website and she refused too and kept sending him harassing text messages and so he has to block her phone every so many days bc it unblocks itself. 4951

He's 11. He and my Husband did discuss it. He said from 8:00pm-4:00AM he was waiting for her to come back.. So he fell asleep, and she was back when the sun was up.. around 10:00am 4951

Yes too young especially with Autism. We notified CPS before and they said there was nothing they could do unless he got hurt. So they pretty much wait until he's dead. We called CPS the first time bc he told us she made him sleep in a room with multiple piles of dog poop. CPS told her to clean it up. Then she made her daughters from her second ex husband clean up the poop. 4951

That sounds real mature. I don't care if he hates her or not. They made a baby together. They are forever connected.  This sounds like more of a situation of the adults trying to playing games with each other than worrying about the welfare of the child. If they share custody, they need to learn to communicate if they truly care about their child's emotional health. And (IMO) you need to support that, and resist encouraging conflict.

hubby has a choice. communicate with the ex about improper parenting and supervision or communicate thru lawyers and the cps. i'd say leaving an 11 year old alone in a hotel qualifies as grounds to alter the mother's access to unsupervised visitation but there may be other facts which we don't know 4951

@soxs mom:
He used to communicate with her and then when I came along she became crazy jealous and started keeping his son from him and harassing us with texts etc. My Husband has custody of his son. She picks him up Thursday and every other weekend.

If he or we try to discuss any issue, she calls us psycho and to quit harassing her. Real mature. Not. This is what she wrote this morning :

"Oh good, I'm glad to see you guys still stick him to the wall and pressure him to make up lies. You guys are really sick people. Stop screwing with my son's head sicko!" 4951

So now you're bringing this personal stuff over here.  I have no sympathy for you. To me you seem very immature. There is conflict because of you & her, not just her. I read both you & her for a few years now. How's the old saying - There's her side, your side and the truth. I wouldn't believe either one of you. Oh and don't give me that jelly ****. There is no way I'm jealous of your crap life. And that is how you spell jealous, not jelly.... What are we in HS? 4951
