Do any of you use an epilator?I just invested in a nice one because I hate shaving, and waxing is painful and expensive. I usually Nair, but I hate the scent and it has terrible chemicals. I looked into laser hair removal, but my hair is too blonde and thin and I was told a laser 'wouldn't see it'.I read reviews on epilating for three hours, spent another 2 watching YouTube tutorials, and I'm just curious about a few things.1. Do any of you use a wet epilator in the shower? Does it help reduce pain?2. Do you only have to use it once every few weeks as is promised since it's supposed to pull hair from the root? Or does it often break hair? I think it's breaking mine.3. Have you ever pinched yourself??4. Last, where do you use it? I have tried it all over except my armpits because...hello, that's just terrifying. 4951

sounds like some sort of torture device?

@mm4731: Yeah, it is.
If you want some entertainment go watch YouTube videos of men being "epilated".  4951

think it's breaking mine.  It is kind of like waxing, over time you have to do it less and less. It does pull the hair out by the root.3. Have you ever pinched yourself??Yes, a time or two I've gotten a nasty bruise, especially in the crease of my leg.4. Last, where do you use it? I have tried it all over except my armpits because...hello, that's just terrifying.I've used mine all over, but armpits seem to be the most painful and the hardest to reach for some reason. 4951

@Elle10:   That don't sound like entertainment, that sounds more like torture than the device you're talking about.

@HotterThanYou:
yes to everything here and what really helps the pain is also holding the skin taught.

You will have to do it more often, especially at first just because hair doesn't always grow at the same rate.

@BooBear: Good thing you don't give birth through your armpit then. 4951
