This seems cruel but there have been times when I wished cops could use this type of punishment.http://youtu.be/JTHwzVdANJo 4951

While it has a certain appeal to my base instincts, that wouldn't fly in America.  Police are responsible for capturing/preventing criminals, not dispensing punishment.  If the police were allowed to do so, some of them would take it too far. 4951

NO b/c the derelicts wouldn't be fazed or embarrassed by the cops painting them. They probably had a good laugh, showed their friends  & were back at it in no time. Some of today's youth ethical/moral  core doesn't exist! 4951

@Retired_Engineer: I was being a bit facetious when I posted this but it did make me feel good to see these idiots humiliated. However, I agree with you in that it's not their duty and some policemen would take it too far. And like thegoodwife said it most likely wouldn't change anything.

For years, when I was a kid, some teenagers were hanging around on the side of our house.  They cut our hoses, walked into the garage to intimidate my mom, and caused all sorts of problems.  It didn't stop until some cops smashed up the kids' dads' car.Smash a headlight.  Cop "Woops, how did that happen?"Smash out the windows.  Cop "Someone did a number on your car."Pour the kids' beer all over the seats.  Cop "That's going to be hard to get out." 4951
