The owner of where I worked last spring called me today. First thing she let me know was that a new General Manager has been hired. LOL, she knew that the GM was a huge point of contention with me. I told her that I wasn't sure that I would come back because--A: I have the responsibility of DogB: My Husband wants me home when he isn't traveling and I want to be here with him when he is home.C: That if I did come back it would NOT be in the same capacity as I was last season. That It would be VERY part time. Not every weekend I told her that I needed to get my head wrapped around it and talk to my Husband. and then I would sit down and talk to her about When I was available. I do love working with Plants and People but  the previous GM made me dread going to work Daily.  I didn't like working EVERY Single weekend from March thru end of May. Anyhoo, she's trying to get her spring crew together. I did tell her that I didn't think it is fair that I would be a complete Cherry picker of hours and days I could work. I think she basically said to tell her when I was available but to commit to working my cherry picked hours. That could work. Torn, torn torn. Confused. Love the industry, What to do....What to do. By the way, if anyone is looking for a work...hard work for 3 or 4 months and knows a fair amount about gardening/plants/trees etc...This place on Northpark is taking applications. Working outside all day in Shorts is my kinda gig.  4951

I have no advice for you because, basically, you know your needs and desires. I think if you can cherry pick your schedule (while keeping yourelf, your DH and your boss happy), than go for it! It sounds like you do enjoy the work.

Side note - wanna come over and give me a design idea for our backyard? I can tell you our wants and needs (and sad budget) and you help us transform it! I'll pay you with the Carraba's gc I'm going to win. Emoticon 4951

Just pay me in Wine Emoticon Seriously, I'll be happy to come take a looky loo, I'll bring my own plastic wine glass to walk around with in your yard. Red wine please Emoticon))))) 4951

Cabernet work? And no to plastic - we're classy wine *****es here! I'll give you the real thing.

I would LOVE your advice. We do have a few trees to take down, and we need some mulching and sod put down. Outside of that, I know nothing else. We have family coming in in late April and would love to have a nice yard show off! 4951

@cgm10sne1: Don't feel guilty at all for being a cherry picker for hours. THEY called you...they want you. Work it to your advantage. Do your job and so it well and you will be in demand and able to professional work on your own terms.

Okay! Inbox me your phone number again. I'll call you and we can set up a time that works for you. It won't take long. But you need to think about what type of feel you want.  Y,all have a pool  if my memory serves me correctly. So specimen need to work well with pool especially if pool plumbing runs in beds that you are wanting to add shrubs and plants.  Cab is fine! Emoticon @ctl74 4951

I say go for it! If she is willing to work around your schedule and it's something you enjoy, then why not? You are valuable to her and deserve to cherry pick your hours like Donnatella stated Emoticon 4951
