Do all pharmacies charge the same amount or did I just, basically bend over when it came to getting the Tamiflu at Kroger?

I know there are other factors as well - just wondering about the actual pharmacy part. 4951

With insurance? Outrageous!

@Francita:
What really sucked is we had to get 4 bottles since most everyone was sick in the house.

Wow - I had the flu a few years ago and don't remember it costing so much. Good Rx coupons saved me a bunch of money for medicine for our dog. It was good to see all the prices and decide where to purchase. 4951

I paid $243 with good insurance. For just my son. I'm praying my other two don't get sick. Husband and I agree that we'll suffer if either one of us get it.

It is SUCH a racket - the insurance companies practically force/guilt you into getting the preventative shot. Than the shot, we come to learn, is not covering the flu strain that's hitting. Soooo.... More people sick, means raise the price on the med. and of course there is no generic.

I think I would've been better with no insurance.

Thank you for the tip on the app, @silly. I'm going to look into it! 4951

I've decided I will not go to the doctor/ER anymore unless I break a bone or I'm hemorrhaging profusely. If I die, I die. 4951

@ctl74:

Get the app Good Rx it will tell you where the cheapest place to get med is. Sorry you are sick feel better soon

@silly123:

Does the app allow you to plug in insurance information? It would be terrific to be able to show my doctor the prices of some of the crazy meds she has prescribed for me. It usually involves sticker shock at the register, saying no thank you to the clerk then calling her nurse and saying "Please tell the doctor the xyz medication that she prescribed is over $150! I would like something less expensive. "

If it were a rarely taken rx, I might go along with the expensive medication but not when I would have to shell that kind of money on a repeating monthly basis. I then want to scream when the new rx that works fine is $4. Why didn't she start there!? Yes, I know the answer to my own question.

@Annie: You can go to most insurance websites and they will give you that info.  Humana will even tell you what pharmacy is cheaper.
