I know this is a long shot, but I am looking for a labor/delivery nurse to interview for a school project. I am getting ready to enter nursing school and one of our assignments is to conduct an interview with someone in the nursing field we are interested in. I already asked all my friends if they know someone, but none of them of do. It will be really quick, probably 30 minutes or so. Straightforward questions about the nursing field, etc. If anyone can help me out, I would be so grateful. Also. I will make you treats Emoticon 4951

You could call Kingwood Medical Center, ask for Labor and Delivery and see if you can set up an interview with someone.  The worst they can say is "no." 4951

@donnatella: Yep, that was what I was thinking.  Now, if you are interested in step down, then I could hook you up.

Actually, if you call the Medical Center, I would ask for their Marketing Dept first. If they don't have one, then ask for the CNO (Chief Nursing Officer). You might have better luck if you go through them bc, even though this is for a school project, I would think most medical staff would be reluctant to just give their name and be willing to be interviewed by someone they don't know.

Good luck!

I had to do that project when I was in college. I am glad I did the interview. I was an English major and the English professor I interviewed was well respected and his description of his job bored me to death. I went and changed my major that day!

Nursing is a great career. Bedside nursing is hard on the body so stay in shape.
My DH is a Nurse, he started in cardiovascular post op, then did travel nursing, then critical care ICU at a major hospital in the med center and now he is working for a medical device company going around the country teaching nurses how to use the critical care and dyalsis pump his company sells. My sister has been a post partum and delivery nurse for 25 years. She has done some post op work too but when back to taking care of mommies. There are so many directions you can go. Choose wisely and think about the future possibilities that area can take you.My sister doesn't live in Houston. 4951

I just had my baby at a place in the Woodlands called Nativiti.  They are midwives (so they have nursing training) and I am sure any one of them would be more than happy to speak with you.  They are absolutely wonderful. 4951
