My 2 year old wants ice cream for dinner and I said "no". A tantrum has been thrown and she won't eat anything. Ugh!

Come on give her ice cream. Take her to Bahama Bucks in Atascocita and brave the sugary desserts. 4951

Gah...my 2 year old has been refusing foods lately too. She wants snacks only. Cries hanging from the door handle of the pantry. LOL! I'll allow healthy snacks instead of a meal(applesauce, cheese stick, cucumbers...) but lately she just wants cookies. I keep telling myself she'll get hungry eventually!!

And yeah...she ate nothing but bacon for dinner. Epic fail on my part!! 4951

Don't give in to tantrums.  It's hard to do as parents, but it will be harder to give in and fight this battle over and over again.  A child must learn that tantrums don't work. 4951

@Francita:
Ya win some, ya lose some! Short of chicken nuggets (which she refused tonight) bacon is the only meat she'll willingly eat. Is bacon even considered meat? I feel like it shouldn't be! She did eat some cereal with yogurt and frozen peaches earlier today. So that makes up for it. Right?!?!

She's starting to figure out that her tears don't bother me. I just step over her and keep on keeping on! I worked with toddlers for several years...I can tune it out pretty well! 4951

Today she asked for ice cream again for dinner.  But this time she actually sat down to eat dinner with me.  All she ate was the cooked carrots but she asked for more cooked carrots so i say that is a win for mommy.   4951
