Not sure why the original thread was locked...   Anyway here is the original postMoist of you know I had to put my beloved golden, Mufassa down a few months ago. (cancer)I am still not over it, I will sometimes just think about him and start crying... Today I got a message from one of Mufassas litter mates mom... she is going to have to move overseas and asked if I would be willing to take Deliliah. My husband will kill me for agreeing but I just really think it was fate that at this time the opportunity popped up.....Both my kids went off to college, I lost Mufassa, and my very best friend is in a coma right now, shes losing her battle with brain cancer so I really could use the love of a golden.... (those of you with goldens will get it) Am I CRAZY??? I may find myself divorced....  See Update Below... 4951

Mufassa's picuture >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Delilah has been a wonderful addition to our clan....  I don't look at her and see Mufassa even though she is his litter mate...  Mufasss could never be replaced but Delilah hashelped me heal.  She is soo sweet and full of energy, she has brought life back into our houseeven 14 year old Crystal has some pep in her step again!!!    Delilah is spoiled rotten and has even been caught sleeping with me once or twice, as my hubby said - "That dog can do no wrong in your eyes"..   I will post a couple of pics of her...   Thanks to all who have asked how we are doing.....  I know Mufassa would approve... xoxox 4951

I always wanted a Golden and were given a couple of opportunities to have one when I was a teenager, but my parents would tell me that they would get too big, and that I already had a dog. @GoldenGirl: She's beautiful BTW 4951

We loved our golden, she was such, well, such a DOG.If you looked up dog in the dictionary, her picture was beside it.They just suck as guard dogs. But make up for that in many other ways.Bree (our Great Pyr) has some of the golden traits, and is a great guard dog, but not quite the same. There is just something "special" about goldens I think. 4951

So happy for you.. I understand- my weakness is for labs. Hubby cried like a baby when we had to put our Brian down-and I thought he'd divorce me when I told him I was going to start fostering labs. We became foster fails with the first dog!! And a 7 year old lab named Hunter healed my hubby's heart. We nickname him Brian2. He is my hubby's shadow- well as is our lab mix Loki. Old man TJ is all mine but he's showing his age at 14. Emoticon
I know new dogs can never replace our other dogs that have passed but they make our hearts grow bigger ! Congrats on your new addition 4951

@Ebola: Where are you getting that from???  It was a joke...  My husband knew I was a dog person when he married me.  He knows better than to ask me to choose..... lol
