Thought it might be easier to post a new thread for each day of this 90 day challenge. Perhaps this will inspire and motivate others to make positive changes.  I was doing the math...I've not set foot in a gym since 2007 so 8 years. Here we go! Day 2 Goal:
Put healthy food into my gob throughout the day Breakfast: fruit Lunch: not sure, thinking white albacore tuna with a boiled egg and a dollop of lite mayo, cayenne peeper and garlic Snack: not sure Dinner: steamed Brussel sprouts drinking a big sip of water in between each bite. Do ab crunches 3 sets of 20 Go to gym to get measurements and walk on the treadmill for 40 minutes,  Ease back into the machines. 1 or 2 sets of low weight high reps. Clean my floors walk dog several times clean and shock pool Emoticonull some weeds in front beds  Hope Everyone had a good day! One day at a time.Free Healthy Eating Clinic at the Library:https://www.kingwood.com/events/event_details.php?event_id=3763&event_date_id=15077 4951

@cgm10sne1: I am having oatmeal for breakfast and will probably make the same for the kiddo.  I am taking my mom out to lunch today, no idea what I am having since I don't eat meat or cheese(she chose mexican).Have you tried the Earth Balance mayo?  It is GMO free and a little healthier than regular mayo.  It also tastes just as good and is sometimes cheaper.  I have never been to gym-let me know how it goes!!

Come join me in cycle class!! I teach on Fri AM. And do NOT be intimidated by it. One of the easiest cardio classes to break into- because YOU control ow hard you want to work. No Competition! BUT it never gets easy because as you become fit you want to work harder. You still need to do strength and treadmill work ( for impact for the ole bones) but cycle classe are great cardio work!! Before you know it you'll buy a bike and join me for some outdoor adventures Emoticon 4951

As for my Day 2- first training ride of the year. And it looks like this will be the only decent day. Hope for 20 miles. 15-20 miles is my base. It's my power hour ride- I ride for one hour as hard as I can. 4951

@Jpgurl: Do you mainly ride the Greenbelts?  I used to be an avid bike rider when I was younger and would love to get back into riding.  20miles in an hour is impressive(right?)

@Okiedokie: No I am a road cyclist ( yea one of THOSE -but I follow the laws). When riding solo I train in Duessen/Eissenhower- it's safe, low traffic- lots of rangers. Today I'm trying a new trail in Jesse Jones park- 18 miles of paved trail that goes to Spring. Yes 20mph is impressive- and LOL not me right now. I can do it for very short periods of time. My goal, by April is to be able to maintain 17-18 mph for 50-75 miles. I am not fast or elite by any means. Today I'm hoping for plus 16- but it depends on the trail- I've not ridden it before. You should bet back into it!

@okiedokie, I don't put much mayo in...just enough that it's not falling off my fork and not bone dry. That's impressive @jpgurl! Wow!  4951

@cgm10sne1 - just make sure you're getting enough protein! It doesn't sound like there is much on your menu, protein-wise, for today!

I did a restrictive diet a few years back and ended up with clumps of hair falling out. And that was WITH protein shakes!

So far today, I've had a cup of coffee - 1.5 tsp of sugar and some fat-free creamer. Debating taking a protein shake in a bit (if I can find my shaker) or a poached egg and english muffin. I'll figure it out once I log into work and get moving. 4951

One can of tuna has 40 g of protein. @ctl74 Emoticon plus what I will have via boiled egg!

How Much Protein Is Enough?

Adults in the U.S. are encouraged to get 10% to 35% of their day's calories from protein foods. That's about 46 grams of protein for women, and 56 grams of protein for men.

It's not hard to get this amount if you eat two to three servings of protein-rich foods a day, according to the CDC.

A small 3-ounce piece of meat has about 21 grams of protein. A typical 8-ounce piece of meat could have over 50 grams of protein.
One 8-ounce container of yogurt has about 11 grams of protein.
One cup of milk has 8 grams of protein.
One cup of dry beans has about 16 grams of protein. 4951

I aim for about 60g of protein daily. The protein shake I drink alone is 30g protein. 5 carbs, 1 sugar, 3 fat. That's breakfast! Tuna is an EXCELLENT source of protein. Your lunch sounds delicious. Emoticon 4951

Today is day one for me. I'm doing the advocare 24 day challenge for a jumpstart. So far I've had a fiber drink and supplements. In thirty minutes I'm having a protein shake. Mid morning snack of almonds. Not sure on lunch yet, probably chicken mashed with avocado and lemon juice. Afternoon snack of berries. Dinner will be crockpot salsa chicken on shredded lettuce.

Ordered a DVDs with my package as well that has six 24 minute workouts. Going to do one of those today. 4951
