I got a new camera for Christmas and I dont know anything about it. I have try to take pictures but I cant get a clear shot anyone that can give me some tips. 4951

Set it to the auto setting for starters. Also, make sure the flash mode is turned to auto. Sometimes you will get tremendously bad photos if your flash is simply off.

I have read it like 100x my husband YouTube camera tips and we cant even get the flash to flash. I must be really stupid. Emoticon 4951

I would Google or YouTube the exact model of camera. If you keep getting dark images, you should take it into the store where you bought it. You may have gotten a dud. 4951

@susibaby123:  When you take a picture, are you looking at the screen on the back or through the small eye window?  If you are seeing the image on the rear screen when you hit the button, that should be the picture you take.  If you are using the eyepiece to aim the camera, a forgotten lens cap may be blocking the picture.Do you have the selector switch set to "Auto" or to something else?As FoFa said, give us the camera manufacturer and model and we may be able to help more.

Did it come with a DVD that you can watch. Mine did and that helped me understand it better 4951

Exchange the fancy camera for a samsung galaxy 4 or 5 phone. Amazing, high quality, easy to use camera that will also call someone. 4951
