Because of the hills, DH and I just watched at least 8 seperate firework shows from our bedroom window. It was seriously the best firework display I've ever seen! Can't see that in Kingwood!

I do miss Kingwood for a number of reasons. But seeing such awesome displays tonight gave me a little burst of happiness about our decision to move out here.

Also...while house hunting the other day, we saw over 20 deer just driving through the neighborhoods. It was really cool. Taylor got to watch a group of them grazing in the yard of one of the houses we looked at. She kept saying "hi reindeer!!" Emoticon 4951

I was just at Bulverde last night at my family ranch. Yes we could see the fireworks display too. Wife and I want to move in the area as well but at a later time. 4951

@CBP210:

That's where we're looking to go. Not sure if we're going to buy or build yet, but we'll figure it out soon. Our lease is up in October...so we have to do something! I love Bulverde. We're looking for 1 to 2 acres in a neighborhood. It's the perfect medium for our want of more space, but still have civilization! 4951

We've had LOTS of turkeys, deer, and black buck antelopes visiting our front yard lately!

How cool, @love2run.  Do people hunt in their own yard?Bulverde, looks like a nice place but man the houses are really expensive.   4951

@foxymama: we live on an active cattle ranch, with free-roaming horses, cattle, deer, turkeys, black buck antelope and an occasional visit from mountain lions. Hunting is prohibited in Tierra Linda Ranch, which has made them all pretty comfortable wondering about. So far, the turkeys are the only critters I've seen jump over our fence.

@foxymama:

Even in the neighborhoods, I don't think it's legal to hunt in your yard. Some of the deer we've seen are tagged. There is some kind of study they're doing. 4951

That's good.  It must be nice to sit outside and watch the wildlife.  4951

@foxymama: It IS nice....but we're now watching from inside the house. The temperatures have hovered around freezing for the last two days here....too cold for me!

Seriously! It's so dang cold! And the constant drizzle and wind isn't helping! 4951

@Fallon:

Thanks! I struggle with it for sure. I'm sure it was the right move for my little family. But I miss not being in the same town as my parents and sister. That part sucks. 4951

@foxymama: Oh, and we aren't in Bulverde, btw. We're about 12 miles north of Kerrville.
