Thanks, but because my pitty has been bitten by other dogs on the greenbelt, I'm hesitant to take her to a dog park. She has never retaliated so I'm not worried about that. But blood has been drawn twice by unfamiliar, small "friendly" dogs. I prefer a more controlled environment knowing small dogs can feel intimidated by her size.
My friend's Doxie was hysterical though! He'd run around behind her faster than she could turn around. She was just exhausted by the time he went home. It was great. 😊
@Ducatisti: Well if you haven't been to KW Dog Park, we have two areas....The big dog park and the small dog park. What I tell new peeps is to use the small dog side first to get their dog acclimated to the atmosphere because of the dogs in the big dog park. For newbies, it would be best to bring your dog mid-day because the park is empty. Avoid weekends at first because there are numerous dogs (at least 15+) there.Â
I'm at the kennels tomorrow if you want to come visit. Just call me first so that I can make sure that I'm available. Bring your friends doxie as well. This will help your dog in feeling more comfortable.
