In response to doddledippy's latest fear-fest, I thought I'd give a happy story.

My friend needed to socialize her Daucshund puppy a bit so she brought him over to meet my Pitty for some playtime tonight.

Much fun was had. Slobber occurred. Butt sniffing commenced. A good time was had by all.

The end. *tail wag*

Thanks, but because my pitty has been bitten by other dogs on the greenbelt, I'm hesitant to take her to a dog park. She has never retaliated so I'm not worried about that. But blood has been drawn twice by unfamiliar, small "friendly" dogs. I prefer a more controlled environment knowing small dogs can feel intimidated by her size.

My friend's Doxie was hysterical though! He'd run around behind her faster than she could turn around. She was just exhausted by the time he went home. It was great. 😊 4951

@Ducatisti: Well if you haven't been to KW Dog Park, we have two areas....The big dog park and the small dog park. What I tell new peeps is to use the small dog side first to get their dog acclimated to the atmosphere because of the dogs in the big dog park. For newbies, it would be best to bring your dog mid-day because the park is empty. Avoid weekends at first because there are numerous dogs (at least 15+) there.
I'm at the kennels tomorrow if you want to come visit. Just call me first so that I can make sure that I'm available. Bring your friends doxie as well. This will help your dog in feeling more comfortable. Emoticon  4951

Your pit better be careful, I think the dachshund was listed number 9 for aggression just above the Chihuahua pup in the 4th link given on that thread. 4951

@Burnsway:
I have been through 3 daucshunds and yes they can be very intimidated by the big dogs! I had one go after a rottweiler who seemed to think "are you kidding me?" lol. 4951

The only dog breed I have a problem with is Chihuahuas.  When growing up, my neighbor had a mean little chihuahua.  Damn toe biters! 4951

@ProblemAgain:  I hate toebiters.  I guess that would make me a breedist instead of racist?!?Actually, I don't mind chihuahuas, but I like to rant about them!  Emoticon
