That I don't have anything to do today apart from eat, walk pup, eat, lounge and watch tv. I'd hate to be out in all the congestion with people doing last minute shopping. Grateful! Even more so if I could take a nice power nap!

I've been cooking for two days straight. My aunt is here but is visiting a friend and spending the night. This aunt can put away some grub. She has single handedly eaten the huge dish of ambrosia since Saturday. I'm glad I don't like that stuff.
But I do have a question about a med well to well prime rib roast. She likes hers well done....we love med rare. How do I satisfy everyone. Should I take it out then cut some for her and put it back in the oven? Ideas? 4951

Just cook it all to well done.Or just eat your shoes. Wouldn't the outside slices be a little more done than the interior slices? 4951

Yes @et but she is a piglet. Two slices from the ends ain't gonna cut it. No way @boobear....not going to ruin a fine piece of meat and turn it into leather. Maybe I will just cut her some off and cook it longer 4951

To save your portions from drying out,  cook it until you like it, let it rest 20 min. then cut off a portion for your aunt and fry it in a pan or put it under a broiler.  This way you will all be able to eat while the meat is still hot. 4951

I'm thankful that my job closed early today. Electricity went out around 3pm. Were told it would be 8- 10 hours before the power was back on so we got to split. Best part is that I don't work for the next 5 days!! 4951

...I actually was out and about most the day today........Had to hit up the Best Buy in Spring (only retailer that I could locate my hubb's gift)....{Bose Wireless / Blue Tooth Headphones in case you're wonderin'....}...Then, made it back home just in time to go with him to the doc...{Cold & Viral Infection...  But home-dude's sleepin' like a baby right now after hittin' up the prescribed Codeine Cough Syrup...  He's straight gone off that lean, ya'll...} ...Anywho, then dropped my hubb back off at the house to chill while I hit up the Target in Atascocita.......It was SO busy that I had to go back out into the parking lot and find a dang cart......I kid you not..........But got what I needed, patiently waited about 8 deep to check out, but all in all, no worries, dudes, 'cuz by then my hubbs scripts were ready for pick up at Wal-Greens... ....Left this mornin' about 10ish...  ...Finally got home, able to chill, blaze a doob, and see what's the happs on KDC 'bout 6:30...~ Merry Christmas ~ my friends... 4951

@cgm10sne1:  Don't ruin a nice piece of meat.  If your aunt only eats well-done, buy her a big chuck steak and turn it into leather for her.  My parents only ate meat well-done.  I didn't know how good beef really was until I went away to college.  Our cafeteria had "steak night" once a month.  They were cheap steaks, but at least they weren't dried out and tough.  The rest of the month, we got "mystery meat". 4951

Another option is to divide the prime rib roast into sections..... one for her and one for you and your husband.  Start cooking hers well before your piece.  If she eats all of hers and still wants more, slap it in a skillet and burn it to her desire. When my parents visited and we had steaks, I put theirs on the grill long before ours.  My wife and I like med-rare to medium. 4951

@topcat and me and my granddaughter went shopping..we hid the things we will want to get after Christmas for half off..then we went to eat and baby set some little heathen girls straight. They were pouring salt on the table, Andie looked at us, said " I am 4"...she got up and went to tell the girls they shouldn't do that. They stopped. 4951
