I remember my great grandma would always stuff a couple pieces of cornbread in a glass of milk and eat it with a spoon. It's actually a guilty pleasure of mine now! 4951

@BooBear: I read this like three times and couldn't grasp it; then realized you meant saltines and it made sense!   Not being a spelling cop, as "saltiness" could be used there, just pictured someone sprinkling salt into a glass of milk.

@Ann2800....You had me at "cornbread," my sweet, beautiful home-chica......Now, is this particular brand that you mentioned, sweet like the Jiffy boxed cornbread mix?...My Busha (grandma) used to put sweet cornbread in a glass, with some milk, and just go to grub town.......As did my dad.....But as for myself, I prefer it quite simply with just a tad of butter.......No milk or glass needed! 4951

@BooBear:   My dad did both (not at the same time).  Sometimes he would add a small shot of sugar cane syrup.  It was a good way to use up dried cornbread, but I never figured out the Saltines.  I also did this when I was young.
