Sounds delicious!  That molded cranberry in a can, however.... I'LL PASS!  I know people love it, but I'll pass. 4951

@alecktra: I have never had it but it looks gross.  My dd and parents love it and will not touch the homemade.

Everyone has different tastes and preferences.  I only like a small smidge of cranberry sauce (maybe 1/2 TBSP), so the canned style with ridges will do fine for me. There are other holiday recipes that I am unwaivering on that have to be a certain way, but cranberry sauce is not one of them. 4951

@Okiedokie:  I grew up with the canned cranberry jelly, but once I tasted a homemade cranberry sauce, I was hooked!  I make mine with orange juice, cranberries, artificial brown sugar, and whatever other spices sound good (usually cinnamon, nutmeg, or allspice).  I like it tart with just a little sweetness.

@Retired_Engineer: I use orange juice, a cinnamon stick and a touch of coconut sugar.  I eat oatmeal every morning and put the cranberry sauce in it.  YUMMY!!  Is the canned stuff really sweet?  I figured that was why dd liked it so much.

@Okiedokie:  That sounds good!  I have to try it on oatmeal. The canned stuff is really cranberry jelly, so yes, it's pretty sweet.
