@BooBear: Sort of the same thing. Â LibreOffice was a sub-branch (along with ApacheOffice) under OpenOffice when Sun owned it. Â Part of it was proprietary source code, part of it was open-source...read "the code is not proprietary so anyone can make adjustments". Â When Oracle bought Sun they rebranded just the proprietary code "OpenOffice" and shut down the project. Â Some of the developers took LibreOffice and continue to keep it fresh to this day. Â It's currently the most popular office suite for Linux users and those Windows users who don't like paying ransom to Microsoft.Â
