I have my list of usuals but I'm looking to try new stuff. Just recently had AVANT chardonnay (kendall jackson) and i really like it and my other current favorite is red velvet (cupcake) which is also a decent price. Recommendations would be appreciated!  4951

My husbands favorite at this time is Smoking Loon Cabernet, and I've been enjoying some Rex Goliath Merlot, which is under $5.00 at our Neighborhood WalMart.. 4951

The angel food is sweet and I am not much of a sweet wine person.

Parker house, well..I finished the bottle but I have had better. It wasnt terrible I just probably wouldnt buy it again. You may would like it. It just seemed to have a bitter aftertaste to me but everyone is different. 4951

@BooBear: Im not a fan of sweet wines either. Usually i like dry chardonnays. There is a good buttery chardonnay that my mom and i both like called William Hill. We tried it at the tasting room (overpriced) and buy it from randalls at least once a month.

I like Clos du Bois Pinot Grigio, currently on sale at Kroger for $8.88. I used to buy Wyndham Estates Bin 555 Shiraz, but I haven't seen it in a while. Specs probably has it for around $10. I have never been let down by Mondavi anything, which used to be at a much higher price point, but is currently on sale for $5. 4951

Cigar Box Merlot is a great complex red.
Estancia is a good label in that price range. 4951

@Apex91:

Clos du Bois seems to have a more popular Chardonnay, but I always prefer the tartness of a Pinot. Shiraz is Australian, and Yellow Tail and Lindemans aren't bad, but I discovered Wyndham Estates at a wine tasting years ago and fell in love with it. I think of it like Merlot but with a peppery bite. I also like Mirassou Pinot Noir, but I think that one may be over $13, still cheaper and better than Ecco Domani, IMO. 4951

I think all the Bogle wines are very good for the price, particularly the merlot. 4951

@TXSunDvl: I was going to suggest Bogle as well. They have excellent Reds, nice, complex, bold...haven't teied their white wines. 4951
