So, dudes....  I was getting my "super deadly mashed tater station" set up in my kitchen earlier...  (Ya know, hot pad to set the taters on, salt, pepper, butter, milk, all within arms reach, and of course my handy hand mixer to whip them with...)Anywho, I pulled out my old-school, trusty Hamilton Beach Mixette, that I received as a "hand me up" from my husband's aunt, (it was actually her mother's, who had recently passed) right after we got married.........13 years ago in March...Well, I decided to look up the Model Number, and I kid you not, this dude is from 1957.......Still runnin' like a straight up champ!      4951

They really knew how to make stuff right back then! What an awesome thing to have Emoticon Lots of memories that go with that mixer, I'm sure. 4951

When I moved into my current house house I found an old mixer in perfect shape in one of the cabinets. Metal non of that plastic stuff. It's my go to mixer. I think it's a Sunbeam. I'll be pulling it out tomorrow, I'm going to check it out on line. 4951

@herron1345:  Is it all metal or is it made with bakelite. Just about anything made with bakelite is considered a collectable. A Hamilton Beach from 1957 made with bakelite may be worth something to a collector. I don't know how much it woud be worth, it may be worth more to you as a trusty standby, either way, it's rare so hang on to it.

@magnoliamam: I got one as a wedding present in 1980- that weird gold color that was popular- I did have to replace it in the early 90"s-same model- I still use it- exclusively!!! I love that mixer!!!!

If it is metal, be aware of a shocking hazard, some of the internal wiring may crack or wear thin, that is bad. They weren't three prongs grounded housings. Wire insulation had a tendency to deteriorate over time. 4951

@BlissfullyRetired@FoFa...It actually is the bakelite material, not metal........And I had no clue that this bad-boy might be worth some moolah, but honestly, I'd never even consider getting rid of my ole Hamilton Beach......Dude's a straight classic in my opinion, and has more than earned his keep in my kitchen!....I mean, he's been mixin' it up with the fam since '57.... 4951

Some things are worth more for its sentimental value than it will ever be monetarily. 4951

Saw a 1958 model 55, bakelite body go for $82 on eBay. Probably 10 times what it cost new.
