There
is a beautiful grey young male tabby that has been hanging around my
house for the last few weeks. Normally I wouldn't care except two of mine hate him. It causes fights inside my house when the others see
him. There have been vicious screaming matches when he comes in the back
yard. I'm afraid someone will tear though the patio screen at some point
to fight. I'll have him checked for a chip when I take him to get him fixed  but I don't know what to do with him after that if he isn't chipped.  I can't take him in even though I'd love to.  He's really very sweet and affectionate, but uncollared and skinny.Any suggestions on where I can get a low cost neuter done and maybe a shelter for him?  He's really very friendly. 4951

I have had mommas fixed then just left them out side. Back home, once a year, we would round up the feral males and take them to be neutered then just released back out to try and help control cat populations. Cats weren't really pets but everyone had a lot to help with snakes and rats and critters. 4951

That's what I was considering but was hoping to find him a home too.  I don't know how to do it myself because I'm normally the one who take in the strays and the unwanteds. 4951

They may not fight once he is fixed.  That could be the problem....  Good luck, I think it is awesome that you want to help him!! 4951

did you check both site in the lost and found?  also check the pet section as some people can't figure out how to post... cats can go missing for months so go back as far as possible Good luck! 4951

Can anyone help with a recommendation on a low cost neuter clinic?

@angiekaye: I have been checking all online sites but there haven't been any that match him.  He's also too young to be one that's been missing for 6 or more months :  I will keep checking and I'll put up a post myself that he's around if anyone is looking for him.

@GoldenGirl: I wouldn't mind that, but I can't mentally or financially take on the responsibility of another animal.  However if he sticks around and doesn't cause problems, he's more than welcome to keep the neighborhood pest free Emoticon

Kaaws was recommended to me by Animal Ark. I was very happy with them, and the price is the lowest I found. It's a bit of a drive, but I just decided to spend half a day in that area.

They don't tell you this ahead of time. You will need a cat collar to attach the cone of shame. Our cat got his off though, and his incision healed just fine. 4951
