The events in Ferguson, MO are a testament to the old adage that
bad decisions lead to bad consequences.
Michael Brown made a choice to commit a felony by stealing
cigars from a store and using force to do so.
Michael Brown made a choice to resist the lawful
detention/arrest by a uniformed police officer.
Michael Brown made a choice to assault the uniformed police
officer.
Michael Brown made a choice to reach and fight for the
weapon of a uniformed police officer.
Michael Brown after fleeing from the police officer, made
the choice to turn and charge the police officer.
Michael Brown made a series of bad decisions. It cost him
his life. That is on him.
Yes he was unarmed, but being armed is not a requirement for
a person to use deadly force. The requirement for the use of deadly force is
that the person using deadly force has a reasonable belief that he/she is in
imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death.
If the “protestors” use restraint and keep things peaceful,
they will not have to worry about the police using restraint.
