Yesterday I went that direction for the first time in a while and noticed that on the northwest corner of the 59 frontage road @ Townsen is being strip cleared. It's apparent something massive is going to be built there, but no signs making an announcement.  Anyone have a clue as to what's being built?  I'm guessing another shopping center.  I would love a Central Market HEB, but whatever it is will have to be raised since that's a flood plain. 4951

@2inCollege: I thought the Costco was going to be at 242 & 45.  Surely they wouldn't build one here in little old Humble.  But, the site is big enough to handle something like a Costco.  Where is Adammaximus (whatever his name is).  He seems to know everything about what's being built in and around Houston.

@jax: LOL
Webster is being considered. Nothing more.

@sapphire: Does this mean you work for Costco and have inside knowledge?   Thanks.   I really don't want a Costco, but I am so curious as to what's happening.  Soon all our trees will be plowed down and we will have lots of buildings - just like everywhere else in Houston.

Thank you.  Speaking of Costco ---- a friend of mine just said that the Costco on 45 just opened today.  I bet it's crazy over there. 4951

The plans are to build a combination of homes(subdivision) and apartment properties with a few retail centers in the mix as well This build out of the area will cover the Townsend Target center all the way down Townsend and around  to 1960 where the Walmart / Sam's and the new Kroger's  that opened recently is locatedThis is why Townsend road was widen in that area recently to help with the traffic flow in that area 4951

LUXURY??? My ideas of luxury is not on a busy street near a busy highway. Especially in a flood plan.

In the 2001 flood, that area took the river overflow. Some luxury that would be. 4951
