We are so lucky not to be up north. Those people are a hardier stock.

Yeah but they couldn't handle the heat. They would die from May-Sept. When we first moved down here we were laughing at everyone bundled up when it was in the 40's and the weathermen measured freezes in hours instead of months!! Our blood thinned out pretty quick and all I have to say is GIVE me my HEAT

There was an article in the Chronicle today about a couple who moved from the Galleria to a remote part of Alaska. The pictures were beautiful- I showed them to hubby his comment was-" You know that comes in white, right?" The only thing I want to surround me in white is the white sugar sand of the Gulf coast in FL. Already so done with winter!!! I have to go see if the cold got my lettuce- I covered them. I'll be ticked if I lose that- about 30 plants of butter, red, Swiss chard and kale. The kale will be ok. I LOVE home grown greens- they taste so much more green than store bought

@WskyTngoFxtrt: yes- my old Lab has a job- to fetch the paper- it's the only reason we get the paper. When he dies the paper goes. The poor dog actually pouted when we cancelled the paper in Aug- I was letting him carry the mail in- not good enough- so we started the paper again. What we don't do for our dogs
