Are you surprised?  paraphrase:  I would love to pass this law the honorable way and let everyone know what is in it, but there is no way it would pass, so I did it the dishonorable way, because I want my way.I am a nurse, it's not just my avatar and I have been telling people from day 1, before it was passed, that this was not a good idea the way they were designing it.  It has and will reduce the number of doctors willing to practice now.  It will decrease the care that you get and increase the wait time for procedures and care.  Eventually we will look just like Europe and Canada with our healthcare and we see how that is working out for them, since their rich come here for health care.  I also have been saying that Obamacare was never designed to actually work.  It is a stepping stone to totally gov. run healthcare.  When everyone actually opens their eyes and says " Hey this isn't working!" The gov will step in again and say, well since that isn't working, why don't we just take over the whole thing and then you don't have to worry your pretty little head over it anymore. 4951

ACA is not a government take over of the healthcare system. Rather it encourages private companies to offer insurance at various levels for people who could not afford it otherwise, with state and federal assistance if need be. The program already has millions of enrollees. So now you're going to throw those potential voters that consist of all races and political ideology out in the cold, only to have them once again clog emergency rooms? I don't think so. As I said previously, the Republicans already have an image problem. They are perceived by many as primarily the party of big business, the upper class, and rich. The majority of oligarchs in this country are not Democrats. That is because they know the GOP will look out for THEIR best interest. So how well do you think the prospect of eliminating the ACA will play in Peoria? I posted the below on ADC considering the subject matter. The GOP should take note. Because if not, when it's time for the next election cycle they will once again be the minority party -

Rocket.. It may not say it in the article but President Obama has lied about far more than he has told the truth about. It would be much easier to state the things that he hasn't lied about than the things that he has. I can't believe that anyone would defend a law that no one knew what was in it and was shoved down our throats by "any means necessary". Remember the brilliant logic of Nancy Pelosi when she said "we have to pass the bill so we can find out what's in it". We are now slowly finding out what's in it and it ain't pretty. 4951

@BlissfullyRetired: I have said before if any politician passes a bill before they read it or otherwise don't know the content they should be voted out of office.  No matter the political party.

Not according to the recent one week old election results.  No talking
points please.  The folks in Peoria just voted in a Republican Governor.

@rocket:  Well.. that would be the entire Democrat House of Representatives and the Democrats in the Senate because none of them could tell you what was in the bill.

I'm also a nurse and every nurse I know has been saying the same thing. The doctors I encounter have nothing good to say about this boondoggle mess. 4951
