Its been on since bed time last night......Gawd it sure smells good in here.This one is stupid ez. Bought a big ol cheap chuck roast at HEB, cut into 1 inch cubes,get a cuppa flour and put in oh...tablspoon salt, pepper, onion salt, majoram. mixed it all up. in a big ol ss bowl. threw in the meat and coat it up real good.Now take these pieces and BROWN them like in the pic above.I then take a couple of good ol texas vidalias with a half stick of butter and throw em in the pot till the onions get translucent. Then put in a couple of cups of red wine. I use the white zinfidel stuff cuz that is what Momma guzzles around here. You wanna deglaze that pot and get all the good stuff and little bitty bits off the pan. I then put in a couple bay leaves, a sprig of fresh thyme and rosemary, about 2 cups of carrots, celery, new potatoes, sliced up mushrooms, bring this up to a boil, then pour it all in the crockpot with the meat. I then make up enough chicken boullion  to cover the veggies.....put the crock pot on lo....go to bed.Wake up in the am, wipe off the drool and check your crockpot. You can thicken the sauce a bit more with some cornstarch or flour if you want. At this stage I toss in some chopped parsley about half cup and if I have it some a cup of frozen peas. Let it go another hour and you will have soon have your first culinary orgasm of the day....wonderful stuff and freezes well... 4951

I have chicken stew in a slow cooker. It wouldn't fit in my crock pot but I have a Nesco cooker-- it does lots of stuff like roast, bake, steam, cook, slow cook. It a neat little appliance. But since It's only been on for like 20 minutes no smells yet. 4951

Will do. Need to get it off my Facebook files. I have a ton of recipes there and pinterest

@Stealth83:

You sound like me! Pretty sure that's the only reason I even use the two sites anymore lol. I really need to work on printing out all of the recipes and making my own little book. 4951

I don't do FB.  Never looked at Pinterest either.  I need to pick up a crockpot cookbook.Or is there a crockpot website?  I love The Pioneer Woman's site, best recipes ever and easy to follow directions.

@Fallon:

I have a few books and magazines with crockpot recipes. You're more than welcome to borrow them and copy down the recipes you like. Might take me a day or so to get them all together though. 4951
