.... I would like to put some white chocolate chips into a cake mix and bake it. Would that work? Does the recipe have to be changed to accommodate those chips? I'm no cook. So I'm asking those who are!  Emoticon 4951

It should work without having to change the recipe. Just remember that the chips will add extra volume to your mix, so you will have to make a little less of the cake batter, or use a tad bit bigger of a cake pan to accommodate the extra. 4951

Should be fine without making any alterations. I add chocolate chips to my banana bread. Makes it a little more moist. Yummy. 4951

I've been craving banana, pumpkin bread! I bet adding chocolate chips, or caramel, to it would make it even more yummy. Thanks for the idea! I think I should make some this weekend Emoticon 4951

The best from scratch cookbook can be bought in an antique store. Betty Crocker put out a binder style cook book in the 40's, 50's, and 60's. My grand mother gave me hers several years ago, dated 1952. My mom has one almost identical dated 1959 that she got as a wedding gift in 1961. I've only seen them in antique stores. I have 20+ cook books and this one is my all time favorite for desserts. 4951

@Queen B...be sure to shake the chips in a little flour to coat them so they do not sink to the bottom of your pan while baking . Other than that  you do not need to change a thing. 4951

Those are the best! My Grandma had one of those, and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, my uncle took it from me and never gave it back Emoticon I did manage to keep some of her recipe card collection, which also have a bunch of old fashioned recipes. 4951
