I live in Atascocita and just took a job working downtown at the Chase building, so I will probably take the park and ride a lot.  Does anyone on here use it to go downtown?  I've been trying to decode the schedule and I'm totally lost.  How often do the buses leave in the morning?  Any help or feedback will be appreciated! 4951

My daughter leaves from the back of Kingwood and transfers downtown.  It is a little difficult to wade through the website, but if you use the trip planner on the website, it should help a lot.  Be aware that the bus stops downtown are not accurate on the website.  It may be a block or two before or afterwards.  We took quite a few trial runs during the summer to figure out exactly where she needs to be and at what time.   Also be aware that if you have to transfer buses, some of them (like the 30) are late VERY often and you may not meet your connection if you don't leave enough time for that.  If you are just taking the Park and Ride downtown with no connections, you should be good. Also, when you are looking at the schedules, make sure that you are not on an expressway bus if you have a transfer.  They have different stops and may send you WAY out of your way.  So, look at the entire schedule when choosing a bus.Good luck!  It has been a mostly positive experience for my daughter and definitely a cheaper option then driving downtown and paying to park. 4951

Thank you!  I tried the trip planner and it gave me different info than the website. That's where I was getting so confused!  I think I can just take one bus (255) directly but wasn't really sure how often it leaves in the morning.  If its every few minutes I'll be ok but if its once an hour I'll be in trouble.   I'm not a morning person and am consistently 5 minutes late!  4951

Depends on what time you will be leaving.  Which Park and Ride are you looking at leaving from? 4951

www.ridemetro.org/Sc hedulesMaps/Pdfs/eas texcorridor.pdfThis should help.  It is the actual bus schedule for the 255 and 259.  It depends on what time of day you would be taking it as to which bus you would be on. 4951

Are you looking at the back of Kingwood or at 59?If it's the back of Kingwood I would plan on getting on the 726am bus at the very latest depending on where downtown you are working at.  What street would you have to get off at? 4951

Before 9am they run about every 15 minutes.  After 9am it's every hour.  Same thing in the afternoon.  After 3pm, coming from downtown, it runs about every 15-30 minutes to come home. 4951

Do they only stop at the numbered stops listed or are there stops in between? 4951

@troyers: I miss the park and ride.  Used to use it every day, but I don't work downtown anymore.  During peak times they leave every 10 to 15 mins.  I used to take the 7:40 and was always  in the office around 8:30, so anything before that should work fine for you.  The stops are not well marked on the site, the bus stops every two blocks, as long as someone hits the button.  I would recommend the 7:15 or 7:26 bus to give yourself some leeway.  I have seen them leave a few minutes early, especially if the bus fills up during peak times.
I miss that method of commuting, just bring a good book or an I pad and relax. 4951

Not necessarily.  You just need to press the button when you are coming up on where you need to be.  The farthest away you would be dropped off then, would be 2 blocks.  Looks like this will be a good option for you.  Remember to get your metro card ahead of time.  You have to go to a transit center to do it, but there is one downtown right off of main street.  Either that or bring exact change. 4951

There's a button?  LOL!   I told you I was totally clueless.  I think I should probably practice a few times! 4951
