I've heard that it's really affordable and you're not allowed to show off your muscles so everyone feels welcome there. You can't wear revealing outfits, or flex muscles in crazy poses or do things to show off such as slam weights together.Â
@BJByrd: So is everyone required to have anthropometric measurements taken prior to registering so as to not "show off your muscles"?  One should also understand the acoustics of weights being loaded on a bar and their tendency to make noise when involved in inelastic collisions with each other, or the possibility that someone  lifting a weight sufficient to stimulate an adaptation that will actually facilitate development of strength and muscular growth make actually - get this - make a noise.  Many times it comes through a necessary technique called the Valsalva maneuver in which the glottis is held closed under a heavy exertion, which has an, evidently, undesirable side effect of producing a noise.  I'm surprised this would bother anyone over the noise of so many TVs or the gaggle at the juice bar.
