I work from home and Sudden Unlink drops the precious, livelihood enabling internet connection so often that I'm looking for other options. Is there a decent Internet service provider that services Kings Mill????

I'm frustrated beyond all reason right now. 4951

You can go DSL with CenturyLink but I found it very unsatisfactory.  Try to work it out with SL. 4951

I have centurylink DSL and no issues.  Once in a while it gets slow but not usually during the work day.  I work from home and have 2 computers and a cell on the wireless all day.  4951

Stop Stop... don't all rush me at once with your help!

In desperation, I googled internet service providers for my area and though there was pretty slim pickings, I called CenturyLink. I found out I can get a land line with unlimited local and long distance calls, in addition to high speed internet that doesn't drop constantly, plus a 50.00 gift card, and the internet service is unlimited data. All of this for the exact same price I've been paying suddenlink for their very spotty internet service and no phone.

Can I get an Amen? 4951

Good luck - I haven't heard good things about Century Link either.

I also work from home and rarely do I have an internet issue (when I do, it's because of a storm or an accident causing a line to go out). Have you checked to see if the wiring is old or asked if they would replace your box with a newer one? 4951

I think CenturyLink is going to work fine for me. If the 10 megabit speed is not fast enough, I can add 10 more for another 5 bucks a month. Supposedly gaming takes less than 2 megabits per second and streaming takes even less than that, so even with 2 of us gaming and streaming, it should be fine and if not... hello 20 Mg. If it doesn't work as expected, I will decide who sucks least and go with it.

I have high hopes. LOL

I got rid of my Suddenlink cable a while back and kept just the internet. Of course there's a big price jump for internet if that's all you're gong to buy from them. I have Direct TV and I really like it. 4951

Reset your modem. Simply unplug and plug it back in. Don't push any buttons . If you are running WiFi the radio signal may need to be switched. There are only on most cable modems 10 channels. Make sure it's not set to random. 4951

We have CenturyLink and are in kings mill. Works perfectly fine about 95% of the time. I'd say it's reliable haha 4951

Well, good luck.  I found CL to be impossibly slow and more spotty than SL. Tried it and had to switch back. 4951

My husband plays games online and we use to squeek by with 30mbps. Now that we dont have cable we upped it to 50mbps and sometimes have speed problems while he is gaming and im streaming. Yes are speeds are legit. 10mbps is extremely slow and would really online allow you to browse the web, but good luck. 4951

Centurylink naked DSL is a little more expensive than suddenlink, but suddenlink will fine the crap out of you when you exceed their low internet cap.

The management at Suddenlink are unusually nasty and vile people. That's not an exaggeration. 4951
