oh, this kid would never go for that. the boy loves his blonde locks. we'll save that for a last line of treatment if needed. i'm looking online and wondering if we should just run up to the clinic to get a prescription treatment- Ivermectin? 4951

www.aad.org/dw/month ly/2013/may/can-topi cal-ivermectin-becom e-a-first-line- current treatments, permethrin and malithion-based products, have about a 50 percent effectiveness rate. They require multiple treatments and they require nit combing, which is a tedious process.I've got 5 people in my house. Might just go straight to the clinic for the Ivermectin. OMG I hope everyone isn't about to get it! ewww. 4951

the school nurse recommends using tea tree oil for prevention. i wonder if i'd be better served getting a lice treatment from the Natural Products store?  4951

Natural crap wont kill anything. You have to treat where he sits, sleeps and rides. My oldest brought it home when she was 6 and she had waist length curly thick hair. It was a ***** to get rid of. I finally used the cheap flea shampoo from walmart...that worked. A boy may be easier though. 4951

Don't forget to have your car shampooed too. A lot of people get reoccurring lice because they don't treat their car. 4951

Also, vacuum the mattress! The Rid did not work for us.  My pediatrician then recommended this natural treatment called Nuvo using Cetaphil gentle cleansing lotion (not moisturizer).  Here is the link:  http://nuvoforheadlice.com/test/?page_id=9.  It really worked!  You put it on he hair and comb the excess off and dry with a blow dryer with it on your hair.  Keep on for 8 hours (using a shower cap overnight).  Anyway, follow the directions in the link.   4951

I thought you had to keep things in black garbage bags for at least 14 days!  Also, when I wrote my advice not sure why the other gunk got added to the blog.   4951

@14valentine: Off topic, Do you live in Oakhurst? How old are your kids? I live in that area and homeschool. My kids went to BBE last year but kept getting sick and were getting many attendance letters. I have a 1st grade girl and 4th grade boy. 4951
