....So, I posted a few days back about having some type of terrorist tummy bug that I just couldn't seem to kick........Well, that's because the tummy bug has been diagnosed as Acute Pancreatitis........Ended up in the Texas Emergency Care ER early this morning, and after spending basically all dang day in there, it seems as if my self diagnosis as "just a bug of some sort" was quite off.......******, Gina!....Anywho, I've got to return to my PCP tomorrow to have my blood drawn and tested once again, and in the meantime am off of ALL vitamins, supplements, and solid food.........Basically nada but H2O, unsweet tea and Gatorade for right now........Got scripts for Norco Pain Med, Pepcid to take prior to the pain med (to try and help prevent any further damage to my intestinal wall and lining) and Zofran for nausea.........The doc said that usually Acute Pancreatitis is related to peeps who consume alcohol, eat a high fatty diet, Gall Stones, or can be side effects of certain medications or supplements.........So, since I've never been a boozer, grub fairly healthy, had my Gall Bladder removed when I was just a young lad at the age of 15, I'm having to stop all of my usual vitamins........ My hubbb's thinkin' that this could possibly be genetic of some sort... .....My papa passed of Pancreatic Cancer 9 years ago at the age of 58..........Good news is that the X-Rays and CT Scans did NOT show any type of tumor, just that my blood enzymes pertaining to the Pancreas was off the Richter... ...On a positive note, we had our very own private room with cable TV, so we did NOT miss the Texans........And I can say that the facility, nurses and doc at Texas Emergency Care was nothing short of top notch....
