Why?Easy to kill.Afraid of humans.Just do not get it.They don't even bite typically (all though one bite me one time) but sometimes they will get you with those spikes on their legs and people think they were bitten.Sure they crawl around on the floor and ground, but quite frankly, so do my dogs.At least roaches don't have fur to hold bad things. So 'splain to me why the bug fear. 4951

I'm not specifically afraid of roaches but I would be concerned that they might get into my food, crawl across my dishes, etc. I feel like they carry disease. Now, I will get startled if I see one in the house but, after the initial surprise, a shoe will take care of the thing right quick. Emoticon 4951

@FoFa: They are just very creepy and gross. I'm not afraid of them but I want them dead immediately after spotted and I want them dead before they come in my house. 4951

I am deathly afraid of the big American Cockroaches that fly!! I had always heard them referred to as "Palmetto Bugs" or "Tree Roaches" but they are the American Cockroach. Also heard that they don't live in your house, but that they are just passing through looking for water.....NOT TRUE! When we remodeled our kitchen and tore out one of the walls, there was a huge cluster of them inside the wall. A snake could slither across my floor and my reaction would be "how cool!" A big flying roach will send me running out the door screaming! 4951

@angiekaye: My cats just play with them, causing them to fly all over the house! I just know that they are waving those little feelers and plotting an attack on me!

I hate them because they "play dead" with their legs up in the air. You go to pick them up and they start moving. That literally freaks me out!! 4951

You can get roach gel and make sure pets don't lick it. I found rubbing alcohol kills them good just don't use it around open flames.

They come through your drains keep them sealed, 4951

all roaches carry many different diseases . They are not just ugly bugs & they love living in moist dark places . If you see one roach chances are you have at least 500 you can not see . One female roach can hatch over 10,000 babies in 4 months . 4951

I grew up around the big red flying bastard ones and I thought they came inside to get out of the water when there are heavy rains. . But I'd rather see those than the small little redishblack ones. I've not see too many roaches at all here. Thank Goodness! Which reminds me, It's time for the extermination guy to come out! Emoticon 4951
