I know that young ladies in high school should (for the most part) be able to manage their monthly cycle. They should carry their own supplies.

On the occasion that the cycle is unexpected, the student should be able to depend on the school nurse to make emergency supplies available.

I am going to purchase some supplies to donate to my daughters school. I do not want young ladies ending up in a very uncomfortable situation.

I would like for other mothers to ask their school nurses if they are in need of these supplies.

Yes I encourage responsibility and managing your own cycle. But unexpected events do arise. 4951

Ugh...that happened to me in middle school. Thank God I figured it out before anyone else did. But it was humiliating because my parents were out of town so I had to call my grandpa and explain what I needed him to bring up to the school for me. We never spoke of that incident. Haha! 4951

I can't believe the nurse didn't have anything. My elementary school nurse has stuff in her closet. 4951

@StartingOver:
They usually have products in the nurse's office. They arent usually what someone would buy on their own, but they work in an emergency.

My daughters school nurse never has any supplies. I figured that the school didn't allow for any in the budget. It is sad when paper towels and toilet paper have to get a girl through the day. 4951

it happened to me many , many  years ago , I just asked a friend & the problem was solved once word got out that it was "needed".  The "grapevine " is a wonderful way to get anything you need in school or for that matter any place , even in todays world. 4951

@WJo:

I agree. Had it happen to me on a band trip in high school. Luckily some of the other girls came to my rescue, or it would have been a very long, uncomfortable day. 4951

The district nurses used to have them.  I can't believe that isn't in the school budget. 4951

After being caught without, most of the time just once is all it takes, most young women learn to always keep a spare in the purse, backpack or locker.

Do the girls' room still have the machines that dispense the necessaries? 4951

@StartingOver:

Suggest to the nurse not to keep the entire stash in the clinic's restroom. Instead, just keep two or three so students won't take off with a large free supply.
