No way.  How sad for his family.  That is also going to create more of a panic here in the US and people who have no reason to worry, will get cause up in the media hype and panic. 4951

Good. He was a selfish prick and knew damn well he was infected when he boarded a flight to the US hoping to be cured. 4951

@MTechniqueIt was selfish of him to come here!  He knew he was exposed to Ebola and should have stayed there. I do think he was looking for free and much better healthcare here.  Now is a critical phase to see if his girlfriend, her son and two nephews get it not to mention the healthcare workers, etc.  I am still not buying into the story that he came here to marry the girlfriend now after all these years?  He had a son with her and the son said yesterday that he has not seen his father since he was three years old.  Odd timing! 4951

I feel for the staff who cared for him.

Everyone will be in isolation now.

And not to mention the embalmers.  I can't imagine the precautions they are taking.
@Stealth83: Why the embalmers, I'm sure they will have on protective clothing and mask? I would decline to be the one to do it, it's my right and you can't make me do it. Emoticon 4951

@bubbleyes72:  But you sure feel like it's your place to make someone else fit your mold or harass them for not fitting.  If you can try to force someone, why wouldn't it be fair for someone to try to force you to do something.  Shoe on the other foot isn't quite so comfy, now is it? 4951

I doubt they will embalm him. Wrap him up several tumes and either put him in a sealed cascat or burn him. 4951

I just can't imagine they would want to work with the fluids.  Ya couldn't pay me enough to do that job anyway let alone now.

@Stealth83:  I'm sure the CDC has specific guidelines for the remains, likely cremation, similar to what they do where Ebola first struck.  But then again, dealing with Ebola is similar to dealing with AIDS patients, with extra strict body fluid protection.

Yeah I'd think they'd cremate him. While I do have sympathy for his family I totally agree that he was very selfish for coming here knowing full well he had been exposed. I hope his family doesn't get sick. 4951

@Stealth83: According to federal recommendations, hospital staff should not attempt
to clean the deceased or remove any medical lines or tubes. Instead,
“the body should be wrapped in a plastic shroud” and immediately placed
in two thick and zippered leakproof bags for transport to the morgue. The CDC recommends autopsies be avoided, and that no embalming be performed.the CDC says, the
“remains should be cremated or buried promptly in a hermetically sealed
casket.” The casket must secure “against the escape of microorganisms”
and have valid documentation for being airtight.
