So WM gets here to pick up the trash. A guy comes up the driveway. He's not my usual trash man. Out of nowhere he starts screaming expletives regarding our trash! I could hear him from inside my living room yelling "eff this, eff these mother effers, eff this sheet...". You get the point! So I calmly put some pants on. LOL! I stepped out the back and asked if there was a problem. He was clearly caught off guard. Though he should have known someone was home as he was standing next to my vehicle. He ignored me so I asked again if there was something I could help him with. He said the trash cans are too heavy. I said "I'm sorry, I didn't know. Our lawn guy must have over loaded them. But I still don't think there's any reason to be using that kind of language. I could hear you from inside." He told me "you know we have to pick these up, next time it's too heavy I'm leaving them here." I quickly reminded him that he's never picked up my trash before, so I didn't understand what on what history he was basing his complaints. I let him know that if there is ever a problem with our trash he is more than welcome to leave a slip, as I know they're supposed to do when there's any issue, or knock on the door and let me know. But that I won't tolerate that kind of language around my home.

Then I wrote down the truck number and called in a complaint. ONLY I'M ALLOWED TO CALL PEOPLE MOTHER EFFERS AROUND HERE!! 4951

They can talk like that all they want. But when it's loud enough for me to hear from inside my house, even with the TV on...you better believe I'm going to say something!

Our lawn guy is a 15 year old boy. He can't haul it off himself. The issue was that he had trimmed all the bushes yesterday and put the sticks in the trash can instead of in a separate bag. I have no problem reminding our lawn guy to use the bags instead of the cans. But I know for a fact that the cans weren't too heavy. I was the only one home all last weekend and I don't create much trash! There was 1 can with nothing but grass clippings in it, another with sticks, and another with 1 bag of trash and 1 bag of dirty diapers. 4951

The one thing I don't like about the trash guys is throwing the trash cans around and yanking the hinged lids off all the time. Our plastic trash cans are beat up because of them. But I'm thankful that they never have an issue picking up our 8 to 10 bags of grass every weekend. 4951

Ours has a limit of 40 pounds, in this weather with the rains, grass clippings could easily have weighed that much with the water if your lawn boy didn't haul them off.

Sucks he used that language but it sucks more the lawn boy created the situation where you had to hear it be used.

@Stealth83:

He only mowed the front yard. And it was yesterday. There's now way in HELL it weighed 40 lbs. I looked in the bottom of the can after the trash guy threw it up against our fence and it fell to the ground. Even the grass left at the bottom of the can was dry. Would it have been nice for our lawn guy to have bagged it all up? Sure. But it isn't required per the rules of our trash company. I've checked Emoticon

This guy was in the wrong today. I get that everyone has a bad day here and there. And I can't imagine he wakes up excited to empty stranger's trash cans. However...He should have left the cans there altogether if he felt there was a problem, and filled out one of the slips (that I know they keep in the truck) stating the issue and left it on one of the cans. That's their protocol. Or he could have simply been a man and owned his mistake and apologized for his language. Had he done either of those things...I would have felt no need to call in and tattle. 4951

Mine signal their disapproval  by leaving the trashcans in the middle of the front of your driveway. So you have to get out in the street to move them before you can get in. I don't know what they're disapproving of, it always fits regulations, but sometimes they do it, and sometimes they don't. Go figger... 4951
