My husband is taking the shots and is doing great on that diet. 35 pounds in 5 weeks
My sister in law is doing the drops and is also losing a lot of weight.
I am about to start the drops this weekend.
I bought the brand BSkinny Global.

I have yet to meet a single person that didn't gain back all the weight
plus some when they went off HCG and had to start eating real people
meals.Anyone will lose weight when you eat 500 cals a day... if
you are getting less than 1200 cals a day, it's pretty much impossible
for you to get proper nutrition. This subject makes my head want to explode.   Suggestion: Eat right and exercise.   4951

No scientific studies to prove it works- what does work is the extremely calorie restricted diet that goes with it. Yes you will indeed lose weight on 500 calories a day. People think it's the HCG but it's the restricted calories that does it. I know of several people who lost weight but packed the pounds back on ( and then some) within 6 months- 2years after stopping the diet and HCG. I personally would not waste my $$ but to each their own. 4951

I thought HCG was illegal in drop/pill form, and only legal via injections by a doctor (and even that's iffy in some cases). I do know that any pills/drops bought online are not only illegal, but almost always a scam and/or dangerous. Read up on it before you get suckered. Some of them (like the brand n+t mentioned) embed "hcg" in the search criteria, but if you read, there's (thankfully) no hcg present. Just the same ole diet ****, different pile Emoticon Even if there is, there's no research that confirms its contribution to weight loss. It's just like any, quick-fix gimmick, imo.

As far as weight loss, maybe it's the placebo effect. Anyone is going to lose weight on 500 calories a day lol But you physically can't keep that up for life. Emoticon 4951

my personal opinion on all these "lose weight fast gimmicks" are just that gimmicks.  Its all a mind set.  If you spend alot of money you dont want to waste it so therefore you will do really well at the beginning, but if you dont have self control and self discipline then you wont keep it off.  Self control is the key to weight loss.  If you remove the word "DIET" out and replace that with life change you will do so much more! 4951

Hi, nice to meet ya, I lost 60lbs in three months on the HCG diet.  It helped condition me to  eat less and watch my caloric intake. Ended the diet in November. Have NOT gained back all the weight plus some.
Anyone will lose weight when you eat 500 cals a day...
True, but without any help, and on 600 cal/day for that first month, my body would have started eating away at my muscles, since that is where the higher concentration of calories are.  The HCG forces your body to burn fat first, instead of your muscle. Everyone has this in them to a certain extent, just not a lot it. Pregnant women produce higher amounts.
if
you are getting less than 1200 cals a day, it's pretty much impossible
for you to get proper nutrition.
That is why the diet I was on supplemented my meals with a shake before lunch and dinner, added bonus, it got semi-solid and helped with making you feel fuller.
This subject makes my head want to explode.
I agree, alot of the HCG stuff you see is BS, (mine was a self administered 25cc shot every morning). The drops I have not heard good things about and the patches, and the sub-lingual pills, none of them really.  Mine was through my Dr.s office and I saw him every week so he could check my progress.  Also got a B12 shot from him each week as well.
Suggestion: Eat right and exercise.

That works great as well.    For me,  the motivation to stick with the planned diet was seeing me lose 8 lbs the first week and dropping 4-5 every week for the next 3 months.1st month was def the toughest.   200 cal a meal was no easy feat, but I made it work.  Healthy and kicking.2nd month got bumped up to 1200cal/day.  Now we were talking,  400 calories meals?  No sweat.Breakfast jimmy dean sandwich, 210  banana, 110 LunchGrilled bacon and cheese sandwich2 slices of whole wheat bread - 1002 slices of Kraft deli american cheese --  1402 slices of bacon - 90 330 calories EmoticonDinnerMy awesome foodie wife scoured the interwebs and found delectable recipes for 400 calorie meals.  I used the digital scale for everything, that was the key, stick to the calorie limit.  She made it so much easier. EmoticonI made choc chip cookies,  and fudge.   I figured out the total calories in alll the ingredients and made enough cookies so by cutting them into 1/4's I had 25 calorie cookie bites.Same with the fudge, portioned the pieces to be 12 calories each.   Candy bars too cut them up to 12 calorie bites.  I ate whatever  wanted and still lost weight. Each meal I always had some left over calories so I was covered.By the 2nd month I started my biking, all the Dr told me was elevate your heart rate 30 min each day.  And drink 4 bottles of water each day.  So i did. There were weeks I did not drink the 4 bottles of water each day, those weeks, I only lost 2-3 lbs. The weeks I did drink the 4 bottles a day, I lost 5+ lbs.  Even this program through my Dr. , the lady helping me said I did great throughout the whole things, she had ladies that were gaining weight each week.  Well obviously they were not sticking to the caloric limit.
@1meow2meow: There are a lot of scam diets for sure,  I was reluctant, seeing that my Dr. was offering the program, I felt it would not jeopardize my health.  Dr. Grayson of Kingwood Family Medicine is my doctor and the one that administers the program. Now ya have 'met' a single person that has lost weight on the HCG diet and did not gain it all back plus some EmoticonForgot to mention, @EllaMentry and I quite smoking the month prior as well. Emoticon  Still non-smokers Emoticon

Murf, you look great. But I don't think I could give myself a shot in my stomach everyday.  Did they train you on how to do that? 4951

@soxs mom: Thanks!  I feel great too EmoticonWell when I was at the initial visit, she gave me the vial and syringes and had me draw out 25cc's into the syringe so I could do that part. The shot part was easy, little stick into the stomach is all, barely felt it.  Emoticon

@brightlights: Are you thinking of HGH ? It is illegal in US.

@sapphire: human Growth hormone is not illegal when prescribed for growth problems -usually in children- our son took shots for a number of years.
BUT it is illegal to use it for muscle growth/ fountain of youth claims. I'm not sure how people pay for it illegally- it is extremely expensive. My son was in an experiment so we didn't have to pay for it- but if we had it would've been well over $20,000 a year ( back in the '90's) and doses are based on weight so as a child grows the doses are increased. And HGH is not without risks- bone cancer being one.
As far as HCG- nope still not a believer. Sorry Murf but for me personally - your diet is not healthy. I could never be as active as I am eating that junk. Too much fat in my diet throws my body out of whack and performance goes down. I'm glad you lost the weight- I hope it stays off- it's only been a year.
