I have yet to meet a single person that didn't gain back all the weight
plus some when they went off HCG and had to start eating real people
meals.
Hi, nice to meet ya, I lost 60lbs in three months on the HCG diet. It helped condition me to eat less and watch my caloric intake. Ended the diet in November. Have NOT gained back all the weight plus some.
Anyone will lose weight when you eat 500 cals a day...
True, but without any help, and on 600 cal/day for that first month, my body would have started eating away at my muscles, since that is where the higher concentration of calories are. The HCG forces your body to burn fat first, instead of your muscle. Everyone has this in them to a certain extent, just not a lot it. Pregnant women produce higher amounts.
if
you are getting less than 1200 cals a day, it's pretty much impossible
for you to get proper nutrition.
That is why the diet I was on supplemented my meals with a shake before lunch and dinner, added bonus, it got semi-solid and helped with making you feel fuller.
This subject makes my head want to explode.
I agree, alot of the HCG stuff you see is BS, (mine was a self administered 25cc shot every morning). The drops I have not heard good things about and the patches, and the sub-lingual pills, none of them really. Mine was through my Dr.s office and I saw him every week so he could check my progress. Also got a B12 shot from him each week as well.
Suggestion: Eat right and exercise.
That works great as well. For me, the motivation to stick with the planned diet was seeing me lose 8 lbs the first week and dropping 4-5 every week for the next 3 months.1st month was def the toughest. 200 cal a meal was no easy feat, but I made it work. Healthy and kicking.2nd month got bumped up to 1200cal/day. Now we were talking, 400 calories meals? No sweat.Breakfast jimmy dean sandwich, 210 banana, 110 LunchGrilled bacon and cheese sandwich2 slices of whole wheat bread - 1002 slices of Kraft deli american cheese -- 1402 slices of bacon - 90 330 calories
DinnerMy awesome foodie wife scoured the interwebs and found delectable recipes for 400 calorie meals. I used the digital scale for everything, that was the key, stick to the calorie limit. She made it so much easier.
I made choc chip cookies, and fudge. I figured out the total calories in alll the ingredients and made enough cookies so by cutting them into 1/4's I had 25 calorie cookie bites.Same with the fudge, portioned the pieces to be 12 calories each. Candy bars too cut them up to 12 calorie bites. I ate whatever wanted and still lost weight. Each meal I always had some left over calories so I was covered.By the 2nd month I started my biking, all the Dr told me was elevate your heart rate 30 min each day. And drink 4 bottles of water each day. So i did. There were weeks I did not drink the 4 bottles of water each day, those weeks, I only lost 2-3 lbs. The weeks I did drink the 4 bottles a day, I lost 5+ lbs. Even this program through my Dr. , the lady helping me said I did great throughout the whole things, she had ladies that were gaining weight each week. Well obviously they were not sticking to the caloric limit.
@1meow2meow: There are a lot of scam diets for sure, I was reluctant, seeing that my Dr. was offering the program, I felt it would not jeopardize my health. Dr. Grayson of Kingwood Family Medicine is my doctor and the one that administers the program. Now ya have 'met' a single person that has lost weight on the HCG diet and did not gain it all back plus some
Forgot to mention,
@EllaMentry and I quite smoking the month prior as well.
Still non-smokers
