Feel sorry for everyone involved, no one deserves that, and I can't stand to see all the bull crap conspiracy theories, the parties involved are probably reading this stuff, making them feel even worse, right down to the neighbors that tried to report the things going on at that house, please just post words of kindness, not the BS on what you think went down, because you knew those people, I know for a fact that you don't know what went down, inless you where THERE!, spit it out if you where, and to the investigators! 4951

>> I am just sick they keep bonding these felons out.  I say do away with bond cept for minor stuff.  Keep these murders without bond, hold them til trial.. then the crime stoppers wouldn't have to hunt their butts down!

@angiekaye: innocent till proven guilty. trials can take a long time, plus most facilities are at their max

@mm4731: then build more prisons, open up the military bases they closed and use them.  Hold them until trial IF there is enough evidence to prove their are guilty in the eyes of the law. I could care less what 10 individuals think!

@angiekaye: the accused is not a felon unless they have been tried and found guilty. it is part of our judicial system that people accused of crimes are granted what is termed reasonable bail. reasonable bail is adjudged by taking into account the crime the person is accused of and the previous record of the person, innocent people get accused of crimes and even tho hopefully they are acquitted of the crime charged, it still costs them money and a lot of it to even be found innocent. you have the fees for the attorney which can be 6 figures without blinking an eye.  you have the cost of the bail which is either cash or property put up  or you pay a bondsman 10 per cent of the bail set for them to be released. when you figure it can sometimes be well over a year or even closer to two years before the trial, do you really think we should lock everyone up for that period of time? in addition how high do you want your taxes? more prisoners mean more prisons and more guards...more meals to buy and serve...the list just goes on

with unemployment as high as it is, just think of how many jobs would be created.  how many people would come off welfare to create a safer environment.  And I am talking about criminals  accused of felony crimes.  IF there is enough evidence that proves before a trial of guilt then yes stop bonding them.  We as Americans are due speedy trials.  So stop holding them that long, give it maybe 2 months and have the trial.  Why let it go so long?   4951

@angiekaye: you're confused about how the legal system works.'criminals accused of felony crimes' what does that mean? what it means is a person accused of a felony. there is a difference between enough evidence to accuse someone and enough evidence to prove to a jury beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused is the person who perpetrated a crime if a crime was committed at all. the time element is because of the backlog in the legal system due to a variety of factors: lots of crime, lots of trials, civil litigation, a lack of judges because appointed judges haven't been approved, a lack of funds because tax cuts have to come from somewhere. and in the legal system your definition of a speedy trial is not what courts have held. there has to be enough time for a thorough investigation of the crime and the facts by the defense team as well as the police and the prosecution

it was indeed drug related....was Not suppose to be Barrett Shirley who was killed.. All I will say. Me and my sisters were close to Barrett Shirley. He was a great guy and a great father. Just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

You talk about someone owing the dealer money.  Does anyone know who the 'dealer' is?  Was it the shooter or is he a patsy for someone else?  Just curious.  Is it for certain that Barrett was that innocent?  If he was, why in the world would he be living, even for a short time, with questionable characters? 4951

Barrett was the victim. Its not for us to decide if he was worthy or not of being gunned down in the middle if the night. 4951
