Have a ton of these growing in my yard, they are about 1/2 inch to 1 inch in diameter.
When I was a kid, in late spring (I think) in Michigan, we would go into the woods and pick morals and puff balls to eat. But those puff balls were usually good ball to tennis ball size. Don't know if these are edible, so leaving them alone. Morals were the best mushrooms ever, puff balls had no flavor hardly.

We also have a ton of these big mushrooms poping up, but these I know are bad to eat.

My dad and I used to traipse through the woods to pick oyster mushrooms.  They were delicious! 4951
