My youngest son got pretty sick last night (fever, congestion, all the fun sinus crapola) so this morning I called him off school and make an appointment with texas childrens. And anyone who goes there knows that if the doctor is prescribing anything it gets sent right away electronically. So at 1130 I leave there and head to the np walgreens. We get there and the guy says he has to record of anything for him. So we left, grabbed some lunch and went home. At 2 pm I call over there to see what is going on. STILL NO PRESCRIPTION. Call the doctors office and they tell me the prescription was sent over hours ago but that she would personally call and straighten it out. We'll 4 pm rolls around and I still haven't heard a dang thing. I call back up to walgreens and after I called she tells me oh yes its here but we are very busy so it won't be ready til 530!!!!!!!!!! This poor kid has had no antibiotic to get rid of his sinus infection. I'm livid. I'm changing pharmacies. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

@mpjp0907: Don't go to CVS.  I had something similar happen to me-twice-with in the last month there.

We switched from Walgreens over to Kroger.
I have at least 8 different prescriptions that I have to have refilled monthly. We used Walgreens for years, but all of a sudden their pharmacy customer service tanked.
Walgreens hours are better than Kroger, but the customer service at Kroger makes up for it. 4951

My sister was visiting here a few yrs ago and got a kidney stone. Kroger messed up BOTH of her RXs, they were pain pills, one of them a control. They wouldn't take my local phone # and when they found their mistake, called her DH in another state! We went over the next day, b/c they close early, and they took away the one RX and changed the directions (she was taking WAY less than the Dr had prescribed, and was still in pain), and barely apologized to her . She suffered 2 extra days of pain for their mistake. I was a phcy tech before I retired and we NEVER would have let the Rxs go out until we called the Dr first! There are ways to give the patient enough for 24 hours or until the Dr call. 4951

We use CVS Caremark for mail-in prescriptions and Walgreens at Town Center for others.  They've been very good. 4951

This is why I use Kroger pharmacy!  They have the $4 and $10 scripts and honor them no matter if you have insurance or not. And they always speed up my scripts if I ask.  Never a problem and been going there for 15+ years now. 4951

I love Target pharmacy. They even call the doctor for refills before I even realize I have run out. 4951

This happened to us, only it was 10 at night, we had just left urgent care and my son was very sick. The pharmacy said it would be at least 40 minutes. I had this sick, exhausted kid with me. I just stood by the counter and waited so they knew I was there. There was no one else in the store. My son came up and stood with me. He was coughing and sneezing. Normally I would have told him to go sit down, but I didn't because I wanted them to see him waiting and suffering (as well as coughing and hacking all up in their area). Suddenly our prescription was ready. Guess they weren't that busy.  4951
