A syndrome that produces many cysts on the ovaries. Some think it is a symptom of a larger metabolic issue. 4951

We took my daughter in for appendicitis by the time they got her into surgery they realized that it was just a cyst. They took out the appendix anyway since they were in there. 4951

In 1969 I started getting cyst on my ovaries & after a year the ob/gyn said I had to have them removed , to make a long story short I ended up getting a complete hysterectomy . They called it multi-poly-cyst & said I was prone to grow them & to save me problems on the road they just took everything out. I spent 31 days in the hospital , but never had any problems after that .  4951

@BooBear.....yup !  31 days , I developed an infection  & had to be opened back up & I have a scar from my naval down to prove it . Of course that was 45 years ago  & the medical field has come a long way since then . My daughter had the same surgery 3 years ago & the day after  she came home from the hospital we went shopping . I could not believe she was able to walk & shop so soon , but we did . Afterwards we stopped at Applebee's & had lunch , she doesn't have any scars that you can see from her surgery  as hers was all done vaginally . Wish they had been able to go mine that way , but back then they didn't know they could . 4951

My sister in law has it and I suspect my dd does to- she lost an ovary and almost her life.
But it's just not ovarian cysts- it's a whole metabolic syndrome. All hormones including sex, thyroid, adrenal and pituitary glands are affected. My sis in law is sterile, type II diabetic and obese. My dd's sex hormones are all out of whack, she has to really fight to keep weight off and as I said she lost an ovary to a huge cyst.
It's a horrible syndrome 4951

@WJo:
Thats how mine was done as well but she still shouldn't have been doing that..there were still well over 300 internal stitches that she should have been concerned about.

@BooBear ...that's what I told her , but as usual she got her way & it was never a problem for her , she is doing well today . She is college educated & thinks she knows everything (LOL) she keeps telling me ,"that was in the old days mom" , so I figure someday she will pay dearly for not listening to a word from the wise.......sometimes it pays just to take it easy & relax & let your body have time to heal . She was back to work 10 days later .Go figure .... 4951

Had it. It was caused from my IUD. Took it out, switched b.c. to the pill and have not had the issue since. But of course we are now expecting our fourth child because of the switch. Totally unexpected and unplanned. I hate being a woman sometimes.  4951
